Any tips to prevent acne?

Does anyone have any tips to prevent acne? I am 29 and yes I get bad acne around my time of the month. But get it at other times as well. So, am wondering if it is part of my diet.

@Hollizzie Your diet certainly may play into it, but the only thing that really helped mine was starting e retinol serum. The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid* 2% Emulsion 1 oz/ 30 mLis just $10, so may be worth a shot?

I've gotten bad flare-ups in my late 20's too- very likely just hormonal changes

Thank you! I never had acne in my teenage years. As soon as I turned 20, I started getting acne.
