Is it possible to exchange an item that was part of a kit?
I bought the Josie Maran complexion kit awhile ago. I ordered it online right after getting 2 samples of her foundation while traveling. I tried the light/medium foundation sample and thought it was a good match so I ordered the corresponding kit right away- since it was limited edition and the other fair/light kit was sold out. After using up my medium sample, I opened my fair/light sample and found that it matches my skin so much better. Since the foundation that comes in the kit is full size and I haven't even I opened it, could I exchange it for the lighter shade?

I would suggest checking with your local Sephora to see if they are able to exchange only the foundation, as we are unsure of whether or not the Complexion Kits are still in-stock at stores .
