Dior forever skin glow is my current fav for coverage that won’t sink into fine lines! Suggest using a foundation brush. I find it works better if you don’t use primer first (but a blurring primer like shiseido after but avoid eye lines)

Congrats on your recovery! I think a low-grade retinol is a good start. Definitely moisturize every morning and night and exfoliate 2-3 times a week. These steps will make a huge difference. From there, you can start to incorporate other things into your routine but that’s a good/simple baseline to get going.

@swanmargo Do you use lip balm under lipstick? My lips are sand dunes unless I wear lip balm, whether or not I also wear lipstick. (Lipstick is my favorite makeup item and I do wear it often.) My daily balm is plain ol’ Aquaphor Ointment. Not the Aquaphor product(s) specifically marketed as “lip balm”; I mean the regular ointment that comes in tubs and tubes. I apply a thin layer to damp (with water, not saliva) lips and it keeps my lips moisturized for hours. Some folks prefer CeraVe Healing Ointment for this, and other people use Vaseline. The common denominator among those products is petrolatum, the most occlusive (water loss preventing) skincare ingredient on the market. As for lipstick, I have a few more questions for you: What finish do you prefer? Satin cream, matte, demi-matte, shiny/glossy? Do you want full opacity, semi-sheer, or truly sheer coverage? Bullet, liquid/cream (tube with a doe foot applicator), or pot/jar? Are you sensitive to fragrance? Do you have a budget/price point?

It really depends. I've always had to use lots of skincare because I have very dry, sensitive and fair skin with roseacea. However I knew kids who would use regular soap and be fine. Not all of us are that lucky.

@Chris38 Greetings, I've been seeing Jones Road products in my feeds a lot lately. It appears to be a great product for mature skin but the proof is in the pudding as the saying goes. I might try one of their balms as a test to see how it performs. Have a nice day!

My recently discovered Holy Grail is Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae Firming & Lifting Eye Cream 0.5 oz / 15 mL It moisturizes, firms, and helps with dark circles. I let it fully absorb before using a colour corrector. The colour correctors make a HUGE difference in how well concealers work. I even use the Smashbox Smashbox X Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector to brighten my eyes on makeup free days. And drink lots of water!

Have you tried a colour corrector to help offset shadows and darkness? I find it helps camouflage puffy bags under my deep set eyes.. The Smashbox x Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector is a good one. I find it really helps concealers do a better job and the light reflecting properties are amazing!
