The Pretty Magical Challenge

Calling all merpeople and unicorns! We’re back with another challenge and I think you all will have a lot of fun with this one because it’s all about shimmer and sparkle! I know we all have a decent collection of products that shimmer, shine and shift in the sun so let’s show them off, why don’t we!

From glittery face masks and manicures to metallic eyeshadow and holographic highlight, the goal is to shine every day of this challenge. Let’s have some fun with this and show off our sparkle.

There aren’t any rules to what qualifies a look as “magical,” any amount of shimmer will do! The point is to remember to go for that highlight, add that glitter to your inner corners or rock that lip topper just because. Feel free to post your selfie, swatches, product spill or just talk about what you’re wearing. I am going to be popping in with my looks everyday, I can’t wait to see your looks and to hear about your favorite products.

Tattoo liner does not work on my oily lids. 😞  If anyone with oily lids finds a go to pencil style liner that doesn’t move, please tag a sister!

@mermadelove, Marc Jacobs Blacquer, the retractable pencil and the liquid pen are some of the only one side that stay on me (both hooded and oily lids)! Have you tried?

@sister13 I’ve tried MJ Blacquer and some other colors in the retractable pencil. They work well for a few hours but tend to raccoon on me by the 6 hour mark and also burn my eyes a bit. I have not tried the pen and will check it our! Thanks for the suggestion!!!!

shes right though- these colors are amazing and I’ve totally worn similar styles. How do you like the PMG shadows???

Overall I like Pat McGrath.  This particular palette was a bit challenging because it included textures I had never worked with before.  A wet brush and/or a glitter glue are vey much necessary for the more textured shadows.  The mattes/satins are wonderfully creamy and a breeze to work with (this formula is more prominent in the Mothership II).  If you're into more luxury palettes and don't mind pulling from other palettes I think her line is worth looking into.
