Hello BIC,

Sephora Collection team is scouting their next great collaboration partner – and we want to hear from YOU!

Sephora Collection partners with other brands to co-create products that are new, unique and exciting. In the past, we have done broad range collaborations with high-fashion brands like Moschino and Mara Hoffman to childhood favorites like Minnie Mouse. We are now looking for a new partner to collaborate with!

Collaboration partners can be anything from brands and other retailers to influencers and celebrities. Ideal partners bring a fresh and creative point of view that emotionally resonates with our audience.

If you have an idea on who Sephora Collection should collaborate, post your idea in the comments!! We’d love to hear what you think.

This thread will close on October 11^th, so please do not hesitate! If your idea is chosen, we will reach out to you with next steps on how to bring it to life.

Since a lot of the good ideas have been put out there how about a collab with SimplyNailogical (aka Christine)? It'd be great to have a lovely set of holographic nail polishes since Sephora really doesn't have a nail polish line since Formula X was discontinued. Plus I love Christine's attitude - she's hilarious! Something from Mario would be fabulous as well (I know that's probably pie in the sky dreaming), or even Wayne Goss. I loooove his brushes, and again a great person.

I love Labyrinth. If you found a way to bring that back, that would be awesome. It's probably more of a fall theme but it would be a nice nod to David Bowie. I think they had their 30th anniversary last year so I know there's not a nice round number around the corner but just a thought since Labyrinth costumery and makeup inspires me.

Alice + Olivia is also a brand I love. They did some nail polishes with butter london a couple of years ago that were really blah. That collaboration could have been done better.

For celebs/influencers/etc. I would love to see something with Mario Devidoanic (sp?), I also admire the work of Beatface Honey, Bailey Sarian, and Sondra Deluxe on Youtube.

It would also be nice to Vincent Longo brought back. Some of my favorite eyeshadows were that brand 20 years ago.

I’m a fan of the artist collabs (Van Gogh, Basquiat, Picasso, maybe Matisse? Monet?). Iridescent is always fun - and I love the suggestion of old Hollywood! Greta Garbo and Audrey Hepburn please. What about Elizabeth and James? I know you carry their fragrances, but I also love the aesthetic of their fashion line.

I would love to see a collaboration with different charities, or even with some women in politics. I think, unfortunately, that women get put into two boxes; capable and smart, or attractive. I would love to see a collab that blends the two together. Please for the love of all things holy, no more Instagram, YouTube or Celeb's. If a new line has some meaning and substance behind it I would be much more willing to buy it.

@RachelBTYay I'm so glad I saw this before it was too late! I think it would be awesome if there was a collab with Amy Schumer - I think that would be such a fresh and fun perspective - I have been a fan since she was doing little YouTube uploads and though I don't adore EVERYTHING she does in general I think she does such a great job of poking fun at the representation of women in the media and the way in which the messaging - even in 2017 - is dominated by patriarchal constructs. I think the beauty world has evolved to a point where it's now about embracing individuality and self-expressing - it's a form of empowerment in that respect. I think that a collab with someone like Amy Schumer would really re-enforce that message - this is about having choices, ways to have fun and express yourself and a way to be whoever you want to be and please yourself.

As a runner-up candidate I think a collab with Gigi Georgous could be fun. I think she's been great about documenting her transition and I've enjoyed watching her evolve over the years. I also think she's got a fun, glam esthetic and I feel like I would like her selections.

@RachelBT OMG this is so cool! I'll have to think about some of it but would love to see a well done mermaid and unicorn collection. TBH most of all the ones I've seen have been a disappointment. Maybe a collection based on crystals and gems. Oh maybe a collection that celebrates previous decades like 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's. Like a throwback to those days. Sephora was founded in 1969 so something to celebrate their 50th in 2019 that takes inspiration from their French roots....

ETA: No influencer collection. Love the idea that some had on charity! Collab with Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki. I love Kiki's Delivery Service, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle. Tokidoki as @Tamara76 said. I'd love to see some type of collab or products based on the most popular trends/items in other Sephora's around the world. Something that is unique to that region and each region offers a different item based on what's popular there... am I making any sense here lol.

@veronika23Yes! I love this idea @veronika23!! I REALLY REALLY wish someone would really take that theme and run with it. It would be one of the best ways of my life lol. I can't tell you how much I love this idea. All of the brands who have done a version of it have limited it to a couple products that were limited edition and sold out too quickly (I am SOOOOO mad I never got to have all of the Stila Mermaid colours GRRRR, only one) AND I feel like they didn't really RUN with the concept. I would love to see a collection that really goes all out. My Tarte Unicorn brush set is my absolute favourite brush set and one of my top-3 makeup-related items, it makes me happy every time I use them. I feel like that brush set was very very well done and the Make Believe in Yourself Unicorn Palette was fantastic as well - 5 starts - but the rest of the collection like the highlighters etc, to my mind, were just throw in there because they were highlighters I don't see that they tried to bring a special unicorn theme. I loved the liquid highlighter from that collection - it's a very good quality product and blends beautifully but I would love to see a REAL unicorn and mermaid line! Duo-chrome or (Trio-chrome?) shifts, glitter, super metallics, holographics and colours and pretty pretty beautiful design. BRING IT ON GUYS! Great idea @veronika23!!! 🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄 (5 unicorns out of 5 for that idea) lol.

@RoseCharlie I feel like unicorn collections needs to be more pastel/whimsical and I haven't really seen that and some who do the mermaid collections stick in colors that don't make sense to me. I just find pretty much all of them disappointing you know. I end up buying products that aren't from those types of collections and make my own 😄

Maybe they need to do a land, sea and air with those fantasy creatures. Mermaid = sea, Unicorn = land/forest, fairies = air (dragon=fire). And really push the theme and their surroundings... Like mermaid add ships, pirates, nautical stuff etc. I dunno. I guess I have some ideas in my head and nothing I've seen ever comes close to what I'd like it to be. lol. Just some fantasy type collections pushed to the max and still having it being glam and not childish...

@veronika23Oooooh that sounds sooooooo cute! Fantastic Ideas! I think you should consult on this line V because you are def the resident expert on all things Mermaid and Unicorn et. al. I totally agree - I feel like some of the releases could really use a dose of imagination and whimsy and I feel like - COME ON! Do it up guys! It feels as though they try to hard to create a line that is for everyone but I feel like there would be enough demand for something really different that they can create something that doesn't include every day neutrals or things that are perceived as more suitable for every day wear. It would be nice to see someone really REALLY going for it. For the mermaid collection I think it would be nice to have a palette that REALLY explores a good variety of blues and greens in different tones and finishes and formulations and loads of glitter, duo-chrome, metallic cream shadows along with powders - maybe a few mattes or a liquifier/modifier to chance the colour/create a glossy "wet" look...

I feel like every release has held back a little in an attempt to make it "sensible" and I don't want sensible! When it comes to fantastic creatures I want fantasy!

Lady Gaga. I think she would make a BEAUTIFUL collab line. She loves and supports women AND men and their rights and she has such a wide range of style. It’s a littlemuch at times (the meat dress) but she’s not afraid to stand up for what she believes in and be herself which is what we should be teaching all beauty insiders. I think she’s very innovative.
