Hello BIC,
Sephora Collection team is scouting their next great collaboration partner – and we want to hear from YOU!
Sephora Collection partners with other brands to co-create products that are new, unique and exciting. In the past, we have done broad range collaborations with high-fashion brands like Moschino and Mara Hoffman to childhood favorites like Minnie Mouse. We are now looking for a new partner to collaborate with!
Collaboration partners can be anything from brands and other retailers to influencers and celebrities. Ideal partners bring a fresh and creative point of view that emotionally resonates with our audience.
If you have an idea on who Sephora Collection should collaborate, post your idea in the comments!! We’d love to hear what you think.
This thread will close on October 11th, so please do not hesitate! If your idea is chosen, we will reach out to you with next steps on how to bring it to life.
Thanks for participating!
A great aunt on my Mom’s side was a lace designer in NY. It was so interesting to see her work as a child @Ispend2much6!
@ClassicallyFab I'm sure it was. That is definitely a disappearing art.
A kpop group! Boy groups have more active fans who are more willing to buy merch than girl groups so I recommend the most popular boy group right now---BTS! But they have an endorsement deal with VT cosmetics so maybe a different boy group. VIXX is a good one, they're known to put out great concepts and makeup definitely ties into that.
I would love to see a super shero collab w/ maybe Marvel/DC/Comic Con.
As far as celebrity collabs go - Priyanka Chopra, Mindy Kaling, Deepika Padukone - like a Bollywood Collection, perhaps.
I think a collaboration with zoe sugg (zoella) would be amazing!!!
One of my favorite designers is Tadashi Shoji!! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see something!
Oh wow, this is exciting. I think a cool collab could be done with Starbucks. Major brand recognition and a lot of signature flavors. Java Chip, PSL, Eggnog, Pink Drink, etc. A lot of opportunity for fun colors, textures, and scents! I think the packaging could get creative as well. Single eyeshadows with the circular siren logo, mini frappuccino lipglosses, mug-shaped brush holders. Everyone loves Starbs, as much as they hate to admit it!
Yes! @kthorsen I love this idea! Coffee-themed makeup would be amazing!
Such a cute idea!
I love the Starbucks idea!!
I think a collab with Betsey Johnson would be so much fun, especially with all her crazy designs.
Otherwise, a Clueless inspired collection would be amazing too. The whole 90s look is big again and Cher Horowitz has always been my idol!
Yes, Clueless! I'm imagining feather pens, but with eyeliner or lipstick on the end instead of a pen.
I love collabs with brands that are not easily accessible (especially Canadians), which is why I love Sephora Collection collabs in particular like the House of Lashes, Vera Moda, Z-palette, the upcoming Colourpop (!!!) and Lilly Lashes collabs. I think the market for brands that are difficult to get to other countries besides US is sometimes brushed off and its nice to see Sephora try and bring these to Sephora in some way. A Makeup Geek collab with a range of single shadows and a z palette or pre-made makeup geek palettes with their bestsellers and exclusives would be amazing. Since I have a feeling the Colourpop collection is going to sell very well, it would be amazing to see another more affordable brand. I would love to grow my single shadows and do more customized palettes but the options are slim for less expensive alternatives. Other brands that would be interesting to collab with would be Dose of Colors, ELF, Charlotte Tilbury, Eyelure, Sigma, Lorac.
Another mermaid and/or unicorn collection is tired at this point, all I hear is complaints when another one comes out. There is also a plethora of "holographic" makeup that isn't holographic and all colours highlights, etc. I think the trend has almost died. I want to say this is my opinion of course and no offense to anyone who loves the whole mermaid/unicorn thing.
I also love influencer collabs when done WELL and I know Sephora Collection can make amazing products. I think the deciding factor or any collab is quality and not just being sold by slapping an image on a product. This is why I loved the tokidoki collection. A collection with a bunch of makeup artists would be refreshing from the usual youtuber collabs (even though I like these as well). Patrick Ta, Mario Dedonovic, Ariel Tejada, Vanessa Davis, Linda Hallberg, etc. (there are tons of amazing make up artists that are influential). Collabs with artists can also be amazing, again, when done well. This is common but I feel like art and makeup go together and the creativity is endless. Mac does this a lot with artists, fashion designers. Urban Decay had the Basqiat collection and Nars has the Man Ray collection right now.
Wanted to add that I also love the idea of vintage like many mentioned below. And would love it if the quantities weren't super limited like the Moschino collection. That was gone in a flash!
