When you shop in-store, items on sale are featured in red saying "Was $X, Now $X" 

Why does Sephora market sale items this way?  Why do they use a sticker process on the sale tags?  When these are out, is that the best time to buy those items?

@KellyPay It's sales psychology, people like to get a good deal on something. The stickers let you know how much the item was previously sold for and what you could get it for now. Depending on the item, it could be a line being phased out or just old packaging they are trying to get rid off before putting out new stock. Sale items at Sephora are a good deal if you missed the sale on sale and don't like to shop direct.

Is the Sephora sale on sale when sale items are given an additional percent off?

@KellyPay Yes, the sale on sale usually happens at the end of December (into the beginning of January) and is usually an additional 20% off items that are already on the sale page. There can be some great finds on discounted holiday items as well as other products during that sale.
