Christmas Make-Up Presents

Girls, I don’t know where to vent, so here we go, I just got back from a Christmas party and the host ( a makeup addict), handed me presents. When I got home I opened my presents and eeekkk, I got Tarte blush set from the 2014 sweet dreams collection and Lorac Riesling Romance palette from 2015!!! Annddd..they looked like they were opened! Gah! What should I do? Can I even use them since it’s been that long?

RE: Christmas Make-Up Presents

Considering that she’s a makeup addict, I think she might have bought it at a discount store at a crazy low price. I’ve seen Marshall’s and TJ Maxx sell skincare and beauty products that are 2 and 3 years old. Although those products are sealed, the old packaging is what gives it away as in how old the items are. If you’re uncomfortable using it, I say toss it. Your peace of mind matters more than using a product that you’re uncomfortable using.

@maksiibih I’ve always heard 2 years is how long to keep blush or eyeshadow after it’s been opened. I’m sorry, it sucks to get a used gift, I have an aunt that does that every year.

RE: Re: Christmas Make-Up Presents

Thank you for the info! It definitely sucks..and I’m not very fortunate when it come to receiving gifts. On Thanksgiving someone gave me a sephora bag but when I opened it, it was some cheap and unknown palette that aren’t on sale anywhere ☹️

That stinks. Best to be gracious though. If it's unused,...

That stinks. Best to be gracious though. If it's unused, I donate the item.
