pro airbrush #55 or #56? (First timer..)

hello, which brush is best for applying foundation, and bronzer etc. I have a set coming but she (employee) used both of these on me in the store and one is on sale but i see reviews saying 56 i better than 55? I’m confused. What do you think ?

The first time I got help from Sephora to find my color match for foundation, the crew member used #56 (I have 3) and have been using it since for all my foundations. It just feels good on my face and creates perfect and controlled coverage that I need. Hope this helps!

Re: pro airbrush #55 or #56? (First timer..)

Yeah i guess I’m building ? I have oil fluid foundation and micro smooth baked powder. I bought the #56 Bc it was on sale and i had no responses by then. but it’s ok thank you SO much for the input!! You all taught me a lot just by what you’ve said. I think I’m going for an airbrushed look? I really don’t know. This is the pic of the base they did on me in store. I added the lip gloss and eye shadow at home. (Is that even the right shade of gloss? ) I’m so new you guys. Josie Marin Argan oil fluid foundation with Sephora collection Baked micro smooth foundation face powderJosie Marin Argan oil fluid foundation with Sephora collection Baked micro smooth foundation face powder

For liquid foundations I've always preferred the 55 because it's a little bigger/fluffier and blends better... I found I could use a lighter hand when buffing so the finish came out better. I use the mini 56.5 brush (last year's Rouge gift) for baking, but the 56 is not fluffy enough for powders so it really is just a foundation brush. The 55 is a better multipurpose tool than the 56, but I don't know if the mini 55.5 will be quite as handy.

(In general, a brush will work best for thinner/liquid foundations... I've gone back to wearing a CC cream instead of foundation so I use a Beauty Blender for that.)

this may not be much help but I always find everything an employee does on me looks 100x better than what I do with it, and that's why I always take a sample since I can see how it is to work with. with a brush that's obviously hard but I got the 56.5 with my rouge, It seems closer to the 56 , and I have the 55 I got after someone did my makeup also. I find 55 better than 56.5 (which isn't the same as 56 but more similar) for airbrushed look. the 56.5 is fine and all . But overall I prefer $2 latex free beauty blender dupes from the dollar store if I'm going for medium coverage and if buildabilty isn't my main concern .
