Free Samples in store

I'm usually incredibly outspoken but there is almost NEVER a time when I can ask an associate working the floor for samples and even once I'm up at the counter there's always a line behind me.

I would love to try skincare samples, test and compare which ones will work better for my skin. I feel like I will never get the chance. I'm wondering if I need to try going a different time or even try going to a different location.

Does anyone else experience this?

I have this issue too, store is understaffed many times. Also my local store (JCP) never has the Free/sample items or Rouge gifts that I see in emails/app. I find this odd since I try to go early or as soon as they as supposed to be available. I shop so much less at Sephora because of it. Of the brief interactions I have had, I would say about half of the staff go above and beyond to make suggestions and are WONDERFUL, others have been rude/dismissive or are not knowledgeable about product and brands they sell.

@Anonymous I am so sorry to hear this. Our stores can offer a sample of almost any product available in-store and our Cast Members are more than happy to assist you with this. Please do not hesitate to ask. In addition, we offer two free samples with every online order placed on our website. Our selection is always changing so you have the chance to try many different products. Hope this helps!

Whenever I get an add and go to the JC Penny Sephora for samples with purchase or gift they NEVER have it available. I finally stopped asking. If you order by mail on this site they usually offer samples with your purchase but if u want to try a product first I guess that doesnt help much.

I only have a spehora inside jc penney here in my small town....i could legit spend 100 dollars and they still wont offer me samples or have you tried this or this? Its like the workers hog them for themselves...my mom worked at a lauder counter and it was pretty mich a norm for atleast 1 sample with purchase

Yeah, there are specific products I want to try. I'm thinking about going only between Monday-Wednesday. Hopefully less foot traffic and I'll be able to try the samples I want

I agree it may be an understaffing issue or even a management issue at that particular store.  I've noticed completely different employee attitudes with each store I've ever gone into.  Some stores they come to you straightaway and ask if you need help whereas other stores you have to seek out assistance (and it's not always during busy hours). If you're having consistent problems getting assistance at one store and you have access to another store then for sure go check out the other store.  @Anonymous@Srylesbymimi

also, at the counter you can ask them to call you over someone to make you samples if you have the time and aren't too shy;)

i agree .. I will not go into a j.c.penny. they are rude and i feel they are to busy to help.

I'm pretty patient I only go when I have a whole day to shop but our is huge and has many ppl willing to help so I've never really had a problem here. maybe they're understaffed

@Srylesbymimi @chiple yeah the one I've been going to is a small one in JCP. It's definitely understaffed. They aren't rude but literally two people ringing people up and there was a line. And then the only other two people were doing faces. But this is the first time I've ever made the mistake of going to the mall on a Saturday, I usually only go during the week.

You are so right! something happened in my Sephora JC Penny on Spring Cypress, Cypress TX 77429. They are under staffed. Always long lines.
