when do you think a girl should start wherein makeup?!

My daughter is 5 and has experienced makeup. She dances so she needs stage makeup from time to time. But she also has some glittery eyeshadows that I let her wear on a regular basis. She’s girly and likes to be pretty and sparkly and I don’t see any harm in it. That said, not every parent will have the same views.

When you feel ready to start dabbling in the world of makeup it’s a good idea to talk to your parents to see how they feel about it. There are a variety of reasons people like to wear makeup and opening up dialect about that can be really positive and insightful @Julsgg5!

Tinted moisturizers are a great place to start , a good one will be Moisturizing and will help to even your skin tone. They are also less maintenance than foundation since you can apply it with your fingers. It’s also great to get one with SPF because sun protection is important at all ages ☺️

I am 13 years old and I wear makeup everyday but since I am 13 I'm not going to tell you what you should do because I am older so I wear a little more then you should. I would use a light concealer to cover up under eye circles since you are in middle school and you may get a little more homework. Then set that with a powder to keep the concealer on and also to reduce the oil and make your face matte. Then put on a touch of blush, but only a little otherwise you will look like a clown. If you want to use eyeshadow use a sparkly champagne color on the lid and in the inner corner to brighten your eyes. Then put on a brown lengthening mascara but if you are scared to do dark mascara then do clear mascara. And then a hydrating lip balm or sparkly lip gloss. Elf makes the best lip glosses that are super sparkly and cute.

To a large extent, that's really an issue between kids and their caregivers. That being said, I think it is probably more about guidance with teenagers rather than absolutes. A little bit of blusher, lip gloss, and some clear mascara isn't a bad way to start out... if there are issues with wanting to cover blemishes, then youtube is a fabulous resource to help figure out how to do base makeup well. Focusing on a more natural looking effect is probably going to look a lot classier than some of the nightmare eyeshadow mistakes I made as a teenager. 

Probably ought to caution that using makeup to try to look older can be dangerous, so just always be aware of the situation.

@Julsgg5 I think it depends on the parent.  My Mom didn't let me wear makeup until I was in high school and was a teenager.
