PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

PLAY! by SEPHORA has some exciting news to share with you. Starting in May 2016, we’re expanding PLAY! to the lower 48 states and giving our PLAY! boxes a makeover!

For those of you already on the waitlist as of April 8th, 2016, we will be sending out invitations in waves until all available spots are filled. Invitations will be sent based on when you joined the waitlist. Spots are still limited, so please act quickly if you receive an invitation. As a reminder, when you receive your invitation to join, be sure to enter the same email address used to join the waitlist. If you don’t receive an invitation this time around, or you joined the waitlist after April 8th – don’t worry! As more spots open up each month, we’ll continue to send out invitations on a rolling, first come, first served basis.

If you would like to join the waitlist, please enter your email by visiting www.sephora.com/play. You will be included in future months’ invitations.

Q: When will invites be sent out to people who are on the waitlist?

A: The first wave of invitations for signup will be sent during mid-April 2016. They will continue to be sent out in monthly increments as the program grows.

Q: Where does PLAY! by SEPHORA ship?

A: PLAY! by SEPHORA is currently only available in the U.S. and can ship to any address in the contiguous 48 states.

Q: If I do get an invite, am I guaranteed a box?

A: Box quantities are limited each month. If you are invited to subscribe to PLAY! by SEPHORA, please redeem your invitation and claim your spot as soon as possible so that you don’t miss out on that month’s box.

Q: Will Canadians have an opportunity to subscribe?

A: PLAY! by SEPHORA is not currently available in Canada; however, we will keep you posted on any plans for expansion.

Q: I am a US resident and do not live in one of the contiguous 48 states. When will PLAY! be available to me?

A: We are currently exploring ways to expand our shipping capabilities to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US Military Bases. We'll be notifying clients as soon as we have an update and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

What the heck.... I wait for months, I finally get an invite, and then it says I'm back in the waiting list???? Get it together Sephora.

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

I am adding my frustration to the list of messages here too. I received the same message as everyone else.  - We have a spot for you... to pay us $10 a month!... Wait- no we don't.  Oh well VIB Rouge customer, you'll have to join the wait list again... to pay US money.  -- Thanks- but no thanks, Sephora.

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

At least Glossybox wants my business every month....no hassles!!!!

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

I got an invite and then am told no. What the heck?

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

So wrong Sephora!  Ever time I get an invite and try to get a box no spot available!  Looks like I am not the only one.  Each time I get notice I have a spot I get excited that I will get a box. Oh no no spots left.  You really should not send out invites if there are no spots.  I doesn't get anyone excited that maybe next month will be the month it just pisses people off!

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

Again?! Did you not f-ing learn the first time Sephora? At least this time you didn't have a bloody count down and you warned people that the boxes would go out fast but seriously. Stop f-ing inviting more customers than you have invitations! What The Absolute F?

Take your f-ing box and shove it down corperate's **bleep**. You couldn't GIVE me a box at this point. Soon enough I will be taking my money elsewhere, where I'm appreciated as a valued customer, not given the finger twice in as many months.

I understand that it's a popular box, I honestly do. But you are losing MORE money by f-ing over customers like this. Do not invite more people than boxes you have available. Obviously with how popular it is you will not have the problem of sending out dead invites. You're not creating more hype, you're driving people away.

Is anyone actually reading these comments or is this an attempt to pacify us? If someone is reading this I would like an email address that I may complain to and actually have my voice be heard by someone. Will the customer service email work or is there one specifically for complaints?

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

This is frustrating. I've been told twice a spot was reserved for me and twice I've been let down! I'm kind of over this box.

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

How disappointing to receive my second invitation to join the Play program, which I responded to immediately upon reading (which was within a few hours of the time-stamp on my invite), only to be once again put back on the Play wait list (this is the second time this has happened!).  Extremely disappointing, frustrating and I feel a bad business practice for Sephora (since this leaves many of Sephora's loyal customers not feeling so loyal anymore).    Sephora definitely needs a better system as most people have to work and have busy lives and cannot sit and watch their email accounts 24/7 (I mean at the very least they should give people they extend an invite to via email, at least a window of 8 hours or more at the very minimum since most people have to work and cannot sit around and monitor their email accounts 24/7 waiting for Sephora's Golden Ticket, so to speak, to join their Play program.  Sephora, it appears that you are making a lot of your loyal customers upset.  I"m sure you can still sell all of your Play monthly subscription boxes, and at the same time keep your customers happy, by simply extending the window of time people have to respond to your Play invites.  Perhaps Sephora needs to participate in the T.V. show "Undercover Boss"?  Someone at the top is definitely making poor business decisions and as a result is losing loyal Sephora customers...  Something to think about?

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

If you invited a friend to your home and when they show up, AT YOUR INVITATION, would you turn them away at the door and say, "Sorry, already have enough friends here, maybe I'll invite you over some other time." No, you wouldn't. It's rude. Still, Sephora continues to be rude to its customers. I also received a second invite. The worst part about this whole invite sham is that they really don't care if they've upset their customers.

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

I'm so confused by this--why send out invites if there's not a reserved spot, or at least enough spots for those you send to?

Another disappointed VIB Rouge member

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

Well I guess I'm not the only one who tried to sign up after getting their invite email. I'm also VIB rouge through 2017 so you'd think they'd let some of us who spend so much in a little easier but no. Good luck everyone.

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

same as everyone else, 2nd time I "got" a spot....tried to sign up within FOUR HOURS of the email. No more spots. WTF sephora....don't send out more emails than spots you have.

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

This is the SECOND time I've got an email saying I can join the play sub box and the SECOND time I am put back on the wait list. I seriously am not even interested anymore and will most likely never shop at sephora again. This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

I continually get waitlisted and customer service has done nothing to help me or solve the issue

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

This is the second time I've received an email saying that I'm off the wait list, but when I try to sign up, it puts me BACK ON the wait list. It seems like Sephora needs to get their act together and actually reserve spots for the people it invites to join. They could limit customers' response time to 8 hours or something, but sending customers announcements that they're off the wait list just to tell them that they're back on the wait list makes Sephora look like they don't know what they're doing. I'm not impressed.

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

Second time I got an invite and got waitlisted again?!  I'll  save my money on some other subscription.

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

Sent another  invite off wait list, but still tells me there are no spots open AGAIN!??????!

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

I was sent an email that states I am off the waiting list, but I cannot sign up for this? Why do I have to work this hard to pay you??? BUST

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

why do you send me an Email to only reply and it say sall spots are taken. I'll stick with My Ipsy subscription.

Thanks!!

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

My second invite, and the spots are still all filled up. LAME.

I feel eel like getting an invite doesn't even matter. They just open it up once a month and whoever gets logged in gets in.

Re: PLAY! by SEPHORA Invitation FAQs

No, that's exactly how they're doing it. The invite means absolutely nothing besides them alerting you that there are spots available.
