PLAY! by SEPHORA has some exciting news to share with you. Starting in May 2016, we’re expanding PLAY! to the lower 48 states and giving our PLAY! boxes a makeover!

 

For those of you already on the waitlist as of April 8th, 2016, we will be sending out invitations in waves until all available spots are filled. Invitations will be sent based on when you joined the waitlist. Spots are still limited, so please act quickly if you receive an invitation. As a reminder, when you receive your invitation to join, be sure to enter the same email address used to join the waitlist. If you don’t receive an invitation this time around, or you joined the waitlist after April 8th – don’t worry! As more spots open up each month, we’ll continue to send out invitations on a rolling, first come, first served basis.

 

If you would like to join the waitlist, please enter your email by visiting www.sephora.com/play. You will be included in future months’ invitations.

 

Q: When will invites be sent out to people who are on the waitlist?

A: The first wave of invitations for signup will be sent during mid-April 2016. They will continue to be sent out in monthly increments as the program grows.

 

Q: Where does PLAY! by SEPHORA ship?

A: PLAY! by SEPHORA is currently only available in the U.S. and can ship to any address in the contiguous 48 states.

 

Q: If I do get an invite, am I guaranteed a box?

A: Box quantities are limited each month. If you are invited to subscribe to PLAY! by SEPHORA, please redeem your invitation and claim your spot as soon as possible so that you don’t miss out on that month’s box.

 

Q: Will Canadians have an opportunity to subscribe?

A: PLAY! by SEPHORA is not currently available in Canada; however, we will keep you posted on any plans for expansion.

 

Q: I am a US resident and do not live in one of the contiguous 48 states. When will PLAY! be available to me?

A: We are currently exploring ways to expand our shipping capabilities to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US Military Bases. We'll be notifying clients as soon as we have an update and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Thank you for exploring the ways to ship to military members overseas! I've been waiting for a year to subscribe because I've been overseas and am now living in the US again and can finally subscribe. I know all the people overseas and their spouses will be so excited to be able to subscribe!

I wonder if repeating items that were in previous months boxes is going to become a habit?  Tattoo liner was also in March's box.  I don't want to see stuff in January that I received in July!

I am actually pretty disappointed that I wasn't sent an email about this subscription. I am a VIB Rouge and I am never kept in the loop. Sephora really mistreats their VIB Rouge customers. I won't be keeping it active after this year. It does nothing for me since they make me feel like crap if I get my make up done in store. The events are over crowded and the vendors are in piss poor moods. All I get is the 15% off but whoop dee doo when Ulta gives me 20% off twice a year and when I buy stuff I get bags of goodies for free instead of paying $10 a month for them.

I am confused as to what is going on. I have been subscribed to Sephora's play box for the last 2 months.

I changed my bank, and I have already called last month to change my card number. They said they changed it. 
I got an email saying that "my card was declined", when I already called to have it changed.
It says that I have to update my info by May 7th.

So, I clicked the link in the email, to bring me to the page to change it.
I am trying to "Submit" and it's telling me "There are no avialiable shipping groups for current user".


Why is it telling me this? As if it's knocked me off the list? When the email says I just have to update my info by May 7th (even though it should have been changed when I called). It never told me I was knocked off the list.

Thanks for the additional info! However, for those of us not in the pilot markets... "2016" is a long time. Is there any more specific timeframe for the national launch (e.g. "early," "summer," "before December 31 just cool your jets," whatever), or is that still up in the air and dependent on how the pilot launch goes?

Hi JazaChai, at this point we don't have more information on when the subscription will be available to all clients nationally. In order to ensure the roll-out is smooth and our distribution centers can meet demand, we will probably be adding markets slowly as more box subscriptions become available. The best way to stay informed is to sign up for the wait list. Once we have more information you can be sure that we'll be sharing it on here first!

What products will be featured in the premier box? Also will customers who were not offered the initial box be able to purchase it later when the program is available to all?

Hi hypnoticpoise, while we don't have the actual description or sizes on what is included in the introductory September box, the contents have been described in various press articles and you may be able to find them by looking online.

 

 Each month's box will only be available for that month and to the subscribers at that specific time, so no back-ordering will be available, however information on products from previous boxes will be available on the landing page for Play!

I live in Columbus Indiana, which is far from both Cincinnati and Columbus Ohio! Pretty excited! Smiley Happy

They probably used a 100 mile radius for Cincinnati and Columbus. Boston Metro could have also been 100 miles, but I'm guessing, since it's more densely populated than the Ohio target area, that it may have been dropped down to a 50 or 75 mile radius.

I'm in the Boston area so I hope I get an invite soon. I signed up within the first few hours of the link going up and it said I'm on the wait list. Anyone know if it said that for everyone?

I'm in the Boston area, got my invite a couple hours ago, and signed up with success, I think, within the past hour! I was never on the waitlist and am VIBR. It seems like it's going out in waves so hopefully you get yours soon too Smiley Happy

Got my invite this morning, just signed up now and I made it in!  I'm not sure how far they're extending the Boston-metro invite radius, because I'm not in that area at all and I got an invite.  I only made VIB a few weeks ago too, so it really must be random who does and doesn't get an invite.  Best of luck to everyone who got put on the waitlist!

A large part of New England is considered the Boston area. I didn't know until a Sephora friend told me when they announced the Boston test market.

I am only a beauty insider.  I used to be VIB but I haven't spent as much this year.  I live in Indy and got an email invite.  I put in my email but after reading we are not in the test market .  I wonder if I am getting a box this month?

Your title is listed as a VIB, so it may be possible you qualified last year and are riding that wave until the end of this year. I am unsure when you officially qualified, so I cannot say for sure. Status is always valid from when you qualify until the end of the next year. Meaning qualifying anytime in 2014 takes you through 2015. You would need to qualify again in 2015 to get 2016.

 

If you're signed up, you will probably get a box. BI status is not the determining factor. Some outside the test market have even been able to join, so enjoy your box if you successfully registered from the invite. Ask a mod to look into this for you if you did not get a confirmation.
