November 2019 Play Pass

I did not get a play pass either. Are they being discontinued?

The November box I got had a coupon for foundation, which I needed.  So I didn't get cranky then. 

 

But I feel the boxes the last few months are crap.  repeats of items I have gotten recently, and just not worth the subscription.

 

December I thought there was no play pass points, and I was like this will not do.

 

Now I got my January box, and I have ANOTHER Smashbox primer and ANOTHER Kat Von D liquid liner. 

 

And I am unsubscribing. 

 

I was not that happy with the boxes. A few things I loved, most of it is crap.  Bit if I am not getting the points It is like I am paying them for samples.

 

And I can get samples of things I WANT for free.

That is ridiculous. One of the only reasons I kept with the subscription this long was because of the play passes. The boxes lately have been crap and i'm sick of the repeat samples. TBH the rewards program is crap too, even for a Rogue and this is just another point against Sephora. If Ulta carried more of the brands I like I would honestly shop there instead. Way to keep disappointing your customers, Sephora.

Yes without warning they still called a box “play Sephora” Dhhhh Play what they took that 50 point card away and we if didn’t order anything we couldn’t redeem it I canceled my subscription today. Yes we paid $10 plus tax which is very inexpensive but recall the subscriptions are donated samples are itsy-bitsy and they are free to Sephora! It’s in the cosmetics beauty industry best interest for letting us try these itsy-bitsy samples. $10 covered the box the packaging the postage and Sephora took away the 50 point card and they still call it “play Sephora” I’m not falling in line!

I wonder who would tell them to get rid of the bonus points. That is one of my favorite things about the boxes. Later I can pick my own sample after a few months and get something I actually want.

I just went looking for my November play pass to add my points to my order and to my surprise it's not there.  Wow.  This sucks. I’m glad it wasn’t just me who was confused. Also last months box didn’t have one either it was 20% off foundation instead. Are they not doing the play passes anymore?

I'm not getting how removing the play pass will let Sephora focus on better samples?  The points needed to get a bazaar item don't add up to why removing the pass was necessary.  If I used all my points on 100 point items, I'd get the equivalent of an extra box in a year.  Imagining this means '13' boxes, we're paying $9.23/box annually, not counting the taxes and that I was buying products monthly to get the play points added.  I didn't realize this was such a problem for Sephora.  I'm sorry, but it seems like a cheap move.  I'm disappointed for one.  It does seem there's a lack of transparency here from the company that customers look for in today's culture.  If Sephora decided to do this based on customer feedback, it should have alerted customers in advance like other subscription services.  If anything, the play pass cards should have had longer expiration dates or not require a purchase to be applied.  It took forever for us to be able to use them online and for awhile could not be used in combination with other codes online.  It is like Sephora was trying to get rid of it in the first place.  I have a hard time believing they will maintain 'better' samples monthly.  In the end, the sampel will probably be from sephora faves boxes, in the bazaar or available by code.  No point getting the box anymore.

I agree with the other responses here. Discontinuing the 50 bonus points without notice was a bad call. Who’s feedback was used to make this decision? Was there a survey that I missed? I’m a subscriber, does my opinion not count?

Thanks for continuing to be a part of our PLAY! program! We are no longer offering the PLAY! PASS starting in November 2019*. Our subscribers have told us that getting the best samples from top brands is what’s most important, so we’re putting more focus on filling your PLAY! box with products you’ll love! Thank you!

The best samples????  They removed the 50 poi ts and I am still getting repeat samples from previous boxes.  Don't get me wrong I love the Bum Bum cream but, I would like something different for a change.  Or an actual new product.  The 50 points were what kept me, ugh time to get a different subscription box.

If that is the case then...it may be time to end my Play! subscription. The Play Pass was the best perk and it set you apart from other similar subscription boxes. Now you're just like Birchbox. And I cancelled them.

Why were we not notified of a change in our terms prior to being billed? Last month you purposely deceived customers by sending us an expired foundation with a sticker placed to cover the expiration date and did nothing to correct this. Now you change the terms of our agreement without any advanced notification of the change. This is not acceptable and not representative of a company that claims to care about their customers. This pattern makes me question the motives and direction of Sephora.

i think that should have been advertised prior to us being billed for the november box. i feel like the play pass was a huge perk for members to come in/shop online every month...i’m disappointed and honestly am thinking of cancelling the subscription bc there was no transparency in this decision.
