Mixing subscriptions?

Does anyone do both the PLAY! box and Ipsy?? I currently have Ipsy, but I am debating joint PLAY! Is PLAY! better? or would I get more from having both subscriptions?

Mixing subscriptions?

I get Play and Birchbox which both are my favorite except for this July's box. I have done pretty much every single box out there and I find these to work for me. Plus it also depends on what you like getting I like getting skin care if you like getting makeup ipsy is probably a better choice.

Re: Mixing subscriptions?

I used to get Ipsy, Birchbox, and Play! BB was the first to go, they just weren't very good. Ipsy was next - I kept getting eyelines and facial products that either didn't match or had a terrible formula. I've stuck with Play! since it came out, and while some months are much better than others I'm overall happy with it.

I am considering trying Boxycharm pretty hard though, I love trying products!

RE: Mixing subscriptions?

I am a sub box hoarder!! I get waaayyy too many. I love them all, in their own way, but in my opinion, if you can afford to keep both Ipsy and Play, then keep them. They are 2 of the best sample size boxes out there!!! I have never been unhappy with either!

I have Ipsy and Play! They are both good in their own way and you should spoil yourself.

Mixing subscriptions?

I'm trying out ipsy, play and boxycharm now. I haven't received my play yet so I can't judge it yet. Between ipsy and boxycharm, boxycharm is definitely 10x better. I wasn't impressed by the two bags I got from ipsy, the sizes are too small and I don't really care for more eyeliners. Boxycharm on the other hand is awesome! it's full sizes and I love that they tend to include great eyeshadow pallets which saves a lot of money. Ipsy is ok for $10 but it definitely doesn't have the excitement factor that I get from boxycharm.

RE: Mixing subscriptions?

i’ve had Ipsy for a year & a half, & Play! for 7months. in that time, Ipsy always blows Play! outta the water! i get more makeup, more items catered to my likes & skin tone, bags i can actually reuse, & wonderful makeup brushes! 👍🏼ive never had a Play! box where i can actually use all the items....🙁

Mixing subscriptions?

I do both, but honestly Ipsy isn't worth it. The only good thing is the brushes they send (almost every-other month or every 2 monthd) by luxie. That's the only thing that's keeping me from canceling. The actual makeup and skin care they send is always from an Asian country and I'm afraid to use it because I have sensitive skin. Also, they rarely send any cosmetics tailored to my skin tone and type. This is just my experience.

Re: Mixing subscriptions?

Keep them both! Nothing wrong with spoiling yourself a little! I like Ipsy because they send more makeup products and I like Sephora because they send samples of all the fancier, new products. ✌❤

Re: Mixing subscriptions?

I do both. I think k they are both great.

Mixing subscriptions?

I have both. I have had Ipsy for 5 years now and Play for 1.5. I have never received the CD exact product twice with Ipsy, but have with Play. Ipsy usually has mostly full-size products, but quality of those products varies wildly. Play is always nice quality, but no full-size products.

RE: Mixing subscriptions?

I have both Ipsy and Play and i like both. I also subscribe to Boxycharm. That one is by far my favorite. Can’t beat 5 full size products for $21

Re: RE: Mixing subscriptions?

I've been wanting to try boxycharm too! I got glossybox for a while but eventually cancelled it. I have heard boxycharm is comparable but much better. Would you agree??

Re: RE: Mixing subscriptions?

Boxycharm is by far the best subscription out there. Try it, you'll fall in love!

Re: RE: Mixing subscriptions?

Boxy Charm is waaay better than glossy. Boxy gives known high end brands every month. Glossy box usually has indie brands that I have never heard of before and have no clue if they are good quality. I like Sephora over Ipsy when the bonus product is a perfume sample. It makes the box more worth it to me because I hate having to ask for the samples at perfume stores and I never know which one I want, and I love trying different perfumes.

Re: Mixing subscriptions?

I have both Ipsy and play. With the exception of my first Ipsy bag, play has been MUCH better. The products in play are usuable in the aspect of they aren't some crazy lip, eyeshadow color. Also the play months ietns as a whole are more diverse as I usually eat one makeup product one skin care, one hair etc. Ipsy has really been a drag the last few bags. If I had to choose one on the basis of what I have already recieved I'd say play. Ipsy is nice as far as I've recieved a lot of brushes, at first I was excited but how many blending, eyeshadow brushes do you really need. I'd rather have new products to try out.

I do Play and Macy's Beauty Box. I don't plan to continue with both. I've just been comparing the two sets. If the July Play box isn't awesome, I'm gonna cancel and stick with Macy's. I already received Macy's Beauty Box for July. Kind of annoying to pay Sephora for my July box on the 1st of the month and not get it until 3 weeks later. I already pay for Flash shipping. Play just feels very... uninterested in customer convenience.

Do you like the Macy’s beauty box? I was thinking about subscribing to them.

Yeah, it's pretty good. The bags are much better. Like actual bags with zippers that you can use. They send out a lot of skincare products. Lancome, Elizabeth Arden, etc. And instead of some extra BI points on your next in-store purchase, Macy's gives you $5 or $10 off your next purchase whether in-store or online. Which, because they're always giving out free gifts with beauty purchases, ends up being more valuable to me.
