Cap Completely Off! To Cancel or Not to Cancel...

Received my January box today. The cap on the Shiseido WASO sample was completely off! It’s a twist-off cap, so there’s no way it would untwist itself during shipping. I threw it out as I am worried someone tampered with the product. TBH I’m a little nervous about trying any of the samples. I have to agree with other reviewers - Sephora’s PLAY! Box is inferior to other beauty boxes. I get Birchbox, IPSY and ALLURE. Each box is different. They all provide high quality samples. I rarely have sample overlaps. IPSY even allows us to add-on samples for $3 each. I got a beautiful LUXIE brush and full-size lipsticks for $3!! I was happy to get my FAVE Lancôme mascara primer in my PLAY! Box this month (perfect for travel!) and the GLAMGLOW mask (looking forward to trying it) but nothing else - a throwaway perfume sample, an open cream I had to throw away, and a Kat Von D Tattoo Liner which is not for me at. all. I’ll give Sephora one more month (I got my first box in November) but I am also seriously considering canceling. I had high expectations for Sephora. Even Target Beauty Boxes are better.

I feel you!  I get IPSY too and they are way better than Sephora!  Ulta is even better Sephora.  I always get my box super late in the month and it is just not worth it really. I don't even see any good reviews at all on the box  I started in October and I think and I got charged 1 month and never got a box and took forever to refund me.  I honestly don't even know why I am paying them $10 a month still.  I pay IPSY $50 a month and get 8 full bottles and 5 samples!  super good deal to get the Glam Ultimate!

Agreed! I love ordering Add-on Samples to my IPSY bag. No other beauty box offers that. Beauty box samples give us the opportunity to try products and brands we wouldn’t otherwise. (I’d feel awful about tossing out full-size products which is why I prefer trial sizes. Less environmental waste. I can always buy full-sizes.) Sadly, Play! doesn’t offer much variety or quality. I just canceled my subscription. I still love Sephora, just not their beauty boxes.

I feel the same. I only signed up about 4 or 5 months ago, and I've already received the same things on repeat--and not even the "good" things, lol. AND the fact they dropped the points incentive, which was a main reason I signed up. (Have to admit, also still annoyed by that one month where it was *only* foundation samples, and some were expired, to boot.) Seemed like such easy, great marketing... to offer a variety of samples, with a points incentive that encourages people to buy what they try each month!  Not sure how they managed to screw that up?

I was wondering what happened to my 50 points card. hell I need to cancel because I looked forward to using my 50 points monthly. hell they sell boxes for 1dollar cheaper.

Agreed! It totally feels like Sephora sends out the “trash” samples in their boxes. Not a great feeling. Considering the high quality of their products, I expected better. I just canceled my subscription today.

so true. I have so many mascaras, primers, eye care items and moisturizers. I'm so bored with Sephora's box.
