Nail Care

I'm trying to grow out my nails, and I've heard that it helps to use nail oil so that your nails and cuticles will be healthy. Do any of y'all have recommendations on nail oils because currently I have been using the Sally Hanson Argon Oil one which makes your cuticles feel great, but it's been making my nails feel kind of brittle.

RE: Nail Care

I use this eveline nail polish that helps with nail growth. It's something like 8-in-1 with tons of benefits and my nails never break when I use it

Re: Nail Care

I've been using Nail Life from Sally Beauty Supply for about 3 years now. I used to bite my nails and they would separate and break off in chips. Now my nails are long and strong enough that I haven't broken a nail in over a year!

I don't use cuticle oil much, but I do use Ahava Mineral hand cream religiously. I find it to be as effective as cuticle oil for me. I've used Sally Hansen's and Essie's cuticle oils though and they are pretty solid.

Lastly, if you use nail polish a lot, even acetone free nail polish removers are harsh. I use an indie brand nail polish remover called EXO that I discovered through Birchbox. It's made from esters + essential oils and works so well it gets glitter polish off - it's magic in a bottle. The best part is that it does not dry out your cuticles whatsoever! On the contrary, it helps moisturize them. Plus it comes in scents like mint and lavender.

There is no one bulletproof product to save your nails. It's a combination of products + diet + a little luck. 🙂

Coconut oil is one of my favs! A little goes a long way - you can apply right to your fingers, it will melt, and massage it in. Product wise, I haven't really tried anything else besides cuticle oil from Jamberry (I'm a consultant through them) - which smells nice and hydrates rather well.

Re: Nail Care

you can mix smashed garlic cloves with olive oil and sea salt to grow out your nails. than put some on each nail and wrap with foil. let set for 15 minutes. I have tried it. it works really well!

olive oil is the best! almond oil is pretty good too.

RE: Nail Care

Use a dab of vegetable oil and massage into you nails and around your cuticles. If your using argon oil, use Josie Maran's, hers is the only oil that is 100% argon
