Redness on face during Zoom calls

My skin is naturally a little red, but I would like a way to tone down my redness, specifically for Zoom calls. I am a 40-something guy with little to no experience with makeup. My skin is fairly good overall, I don't have a problem with blemishes or dry spots, I just look like I am blushing all the time on camera. Pls halp!

RE: Redness on face during Zoom calls

If you want minimal effort for evenness (given the lighting adjustments haven’t helped, corrector hasn’t worked) then I suggest a tinted moisturizer, bb cream or cc cream. I recommend Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer should you venture down that path. Careful - once you get started down the makeup rabbit hole, it can be difficult to escape!

Play with the brightness and lighting in the room you are in. If I don’t have the right bulbs in the lamps I have in my office they give a yellow cast and drab me out so I replaced all my bulbs with very clear and bright bulbs and it’s made a huge difference. If you want to go the make up route, green cancels red so you could try a primer for redness.

Re: Redness on face during Zoom calls

@neillybop A green color corrector might help reduce redness-- but before you go out and buy a bunch of makeup, check and see if your problem can't be helped with better lighting. Cameras can be really finicky about good lighting, and a ring light behind the camera can really help even out on-camera coloration. Or google something like "video conference lighting" for suggestions. (I'd link a few articles but this forum doesn't allow outside links.)
