best makeup for beginner

hello so Ive been doing makeup on and off for a few years now but im still new to it. any recommendations on what makeup would be best for beginners???

Re: best makeup for beginner

@buggy1997

I've said it many times before on Sephora Community, but it bears repeating - Every time I hear "beginner", I think of the Tarte Tartlette eyeshadow palettes  - tarte Tartelette™ In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette , tarte Tartelette™ Toasted Eyeshadow Palette , tarte Tartelette™ In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette . I'd say that Tarte products in general are good for beginners.

Also agree with another post, that there are some good drugstore options, while you are learning what you like and what works, and learning application techniques. Some items I'd recommend -

Eye Shadow - Milani Everyday Eyes in Must Have Naturals or Plum Basics; Milani Soft and Sultry or   Milani Most Loved Mattes palettes; Winky Lux Coffee or Cashmere Kitten palettes; ColourPop Nude Mood or Going Coconuts palettes.

Blush - Milani (pretty much any of their blushes), a BH Cosmetics Palette; Burt's Bees blushes; or - you could go with a face palette, like Catrice's California in a box, which includes blush, bronzer, and highlight

Bronzer - Physician's Formula butter bronzer, Essence Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder

Mascara - most Maybelline and Cover Girl mascaras are good; the Essence lash Princess mascaras are also good

lip color - Maybelline - you might want to stick with a more subdued color to start

eyeliner - Essence - one of the Extreme Lasting liners; Milani Stay-put 16 hour eyeliner. You might want a brown liner to start (with the more neutral eye palette) - It's not as harsh, and a little more forgiving than black

eye primer - Milani

setting powder - Milani Prep + Set  + Go Transparent Powder, Wet 'n' Wild Photo Focus; or Coty Airspun. If you prefer setting spray - Catrice makes some good ones

Eye Makeup Remover - CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips 1.69 oz/ 50 mL  or CLINIQUE Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent 4.2 oz/ 125 mL

brushes - Real Techniques

Foundation is hard to recommend, without knowing what you'd be looking for, skin type, etc

Most of the "drugstore" products I've listed can be found at ULTA, Amazon, Walgreen's, CVS, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. The Clinique makeup removers and Tarte products are available at Sephora. You may need to go to Milani's website for some of the products I mentioned - they ship for free with a $25 purchase.

@buggy1997 I would start off with drugstore makeup like Maybelline.  Other good brands would be Morphe and Colourpop
