What are your vacation travel essentials?

So I'm heading on a vacation to Jamaica for 10 days, and I'm struggling to decide what makeup I should bring with me. I am someone who generally tans fairly easily and want to know if anyone has some good transitional skin colour recommendations.

How was you vacation?

Re: What are your vacation travel essentials?

@Stephanie02 I like to take things in stick form like highlighters and blushes to avoid powder breakage. The mini promo sizes are perfect for traveling. Things like nars multiple and bite multisticks which can be used for lip, cheek, and eye are great too. I take a tinted moisturizer that's the shade I tan into and a lighter BB/CC I use to mix, it makes it really easy to color adjust on the go. You can put little bits into contact cases for easy traveling!

As others have said, SPF! Waterproof products are always a plus. I always try to scale back on my strong skincare routine and keep it basic and soothing too, lots of the strong products (especially acids!) don't play nice with the sun so I use them sparingly/cut them out during my trips. Hope you have a great time!

Lucky you @Stephanie02!!!! Dont forget sunscreen/sunblock.  I usually haul CC/BB cream, and other cream products liked (cream eyeshadows, cream blush etc) just because they are really low maintain and you can use your fingers to apply 😉 For lips, i like mini lip tints (YSL) or lip glides (Nars). Have fun!

I would keep it simple! Make sure you get a BB cream with a high SPF to protect your skin, also a body lotion like Every Sun Day by Dr. Jart+. I’d maybe go for a water proof mascara and nice pink-nude lipstick, as well as a lip balm with an spf. Dry shampoo would be great too! For evening meals at restaurants I would bring a simple eyeshadow palette to glam up a little bit

Girl, this might not be a helpful answer but bring it all! Like 75% of my luggage on vacation is my beauty supplies haha. If you don't want to have to buy new foundation when u tan you could always try out foundation adjusting products (like the ones from NYX). I love that they allow me to focus on the quality of foundation instead of color. I have the opposite problem from you, and am just so pale that I have yet to find a shade light enough. Ever since I bought my foundation adjuster, I don't have to worry at all! Have fun on your trip and I hope this recommendation helped at least a little!

Re: What are your vacation travel essentials?

I find BB or CC creams to be the best for transitional makeup because they're just more forgiving.  I tend to get a little tan and pretty burnt when I go to Haiti and the IT Cosmetic CC cream both provides sunscreen and moisture but evens out my coverage.  Plus, it saves room by being all three in one.  I also tend to take sheet masks with me on vacation because I'll be out more and need to keep the hydration in my skin.  And my all time favorite trick is to take one of the Sephora sleep masks with me and put it on while I'm on the plane.  Planes are so dry and this gives me pampering and hydration.  And they're small enough to be TSA friendly and big enough to pop in a Ziploc and have mask left for the trip home.

Have a WONDERFUL time in Jamaica!  Safe travels.
