Try makeup virtually

Hey everyone! How do you know which makeup product(s) to buy when shopping online? Do you ever use a "virtual try-on" tool to try on the makeup virtually? Would love to hear your thoughts!

@lema98 I find virtual try-on tools only give you a rough idea of colour but miss out on showing some of the other variables like the prep you might do underneath, any sheen or shimmer the product might have, or how it might blend out or with other products.

For anything complexion related like foundation, concealer, blush, contour, I can’t shop online. I need to see it in person and make sure I’m happy with the shade. For lip or eye colour, a swatch is good enough for me. I just need the colour to be close enough to what I’m envisioning. I’m not picky to point of needing an exact colour match. I can always adjust how much I use or mix products if needed.

But if virtual try-ons helps you shop, don’t let our thoughts dissuade you! It’s all about what you like!

@lema98 I look at real swatches online to determine sometimes. I never use the virtual try on.
