Hello lovelies! Yes yes, of course it is going to be our year, with 2018's Ultra Violet on the horizon. 

But this is more than just another fad... I'm sure I am not the only one here who knows the trends are finally just now catching up to us.

The upcoming Violet Voss one seems to have a similar color story to the ND one (gold/copper with purples)... maybe that will end up working. It honestly looks a little more daytime-wearable too.

I feel you @Anonymous... my *actual* favorite color is bright cobalt blue, but I just have not found a way to wear it that I'm happy with yet. Hopefully some ideas will come through here that will work for you!

I would be interested in the Violet Voss Hashtag palette if the names weren't so unfortunate! The colours seem really flattering. Maybe in the distant future I'll splurge on Lila!

I used Purple Amethyst from KVD Alchemist on the centre of my lid and as a face highlight today and it looked very vibrant and ethereal!

I still haven't tried the Alchemist kit! Did you like how it turned out?

@fieldsofclover I only recently broke down and bought KVD Alchemist. It just never appealed to me, largely due to what I thought was an enormous triangular package. (Turns out that it fits nicely in your palm.) But then I saw swatches online of what people did with it (combining it with eyeshadows and other powders) and my investigatory curiosity was piqued 😉

The formula is a soft powder that has been milled into an ultra-fine texture that can be lightly pressed or brushed (I prefer pressing for maximum control) over virtually any eyeshadow to create a new colour or enhance an existing one. I love to experiment with it!

I really like the colors in it... it almost seems like they were trying to sneak a purple palette onto the end of the warm-neutrals trend! It looks like it could be more everyday-wearable than a lot of sets like this.

Frankly, there's just not enough purple in the world. 🙂  Especially in the cool-toned world of eyeshadow.  This will be a fun thread; thanks!

Yay! I hope so too... purple beauty stuff is kind of a meme, but when I got serious about shopping for colors and palettes I found out there's not nearly as much prestige-quality product out there as I expected. I hope there's an uptick soon.
