Spider veins

Please HELP me cover my facial spider veins. Seems I get them covered after much layering .... Then I smile a few times and hello they are now exposed on my cheeks and lip again. Yes I use primer and setting spray.  My nose seems to have a dift texture completely. Should mention; I also have 54 year old skin.

Re: Spider veins

I’m 41 yrs old and I’m noticing broken capillaries on my face as well- near my undereyes and around my lips. I’ve had these forever and I do remember when I was in middle school, I had to get a few zapped because they were getting bigger. I don’t know how to cover them either. I am going to try the products that were recommended in your post’s replies.

Re: Spider veins

@JuJuPhoraBug - I have broken capillaries on my chin and nose.  I use a yellow color corrector (discontinued) or Dr. Jart+ Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 1.7 fl. oz/ 50 mL .  This goes on light green, but dries to an unnoticeable beige, that you can wear alone or under makeup.  I apply both with a nylon brush, but you can use your fingers.  You'll also want to apply whatever you use lightly--you're neutralizing the redness, while concealing in layers.  Your foundation will be another layer aiding in concealing as well.

Re: Spider veins

@JuJuPhoraBug  To hide facial veins, treat them like discoloration: use a color corrector to cancel out the vein color. If you normally wear foundation, apply the color corrector beneath it.

  • Red "veins" need a green color corrector. (They're probably capillaries instead, since veins appear blue.)
  • Blue veins need an orange color corrector.

Remember, the goal of a color corrector is to cancel out the discoloration, not cover it up. Apply just enough color corrector to make the redness or blueness less visible.

For my surface redness, I occasionally use Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Color Corrector 4 Green or MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Primer Color Corrector - Redness Corrector Redness Corrector. I recently bought Smashbox Photo Finish Correct Anti-Redness Face Primer 1 oz. / 30 mL to try, but I haven’t tested it yet.

For blue discoloration, the Lancome and MUFE products also come in orange shades. Or you could try a bisque or peach colored concealer, since those are shades of orange—and you can pick a shade that's deep or light enough to work with your skin tone.

Re: Spider veins

@JuJuPhoraBug hi, I also have spider veins, on my cheeks and legs. I'm much younger than you (I'm 28) but I know what you mean. I think these issues are genetic, my father also have them. You can't do much with it. But, if you want to cover them, I heard that green concealers can help to reduce the redness of veins, and other skin issues. So maybe, try this trick!!
