Soft and gentle foundation brush recommendations please

Hi, I wanted to ask for recommendations from people for the softest and most gentle foundation brushes you've used.

I just had to throw out a brush I got from Juvia's Place as the dense bristles just continuously irritate my skin and it's absolutely impossible to clean it, which might also be contributing to further irritation. None of my other makeup brushes for other steps cause this problem and get clean very easily. I have used Sephora collection eye brushes before but did not like them as they aren't very soft, but for the price it was a good first-time brush buyer's tool set.
I have a ROSE INC Number 1 Concealer Brush # which is amazing, a few real techniques face brushes and an ULTA powder brush that are all so soft and gentle, a couple of kabuki brushes from Ross (I forgot the brand name after several tears), and an eye makeup set from Morphe.
None of these cause me problems other than the Morphe flat concealer brush being quite annoying to use for spready concealer properly.

> My skin is dry and sensitive, and I use a tiny dot of medium coverage foundation, my aim is to just have seamless uniform spread over the skin, not concerned about building up coverage or avoiding creasing as my makeup sits well on my skin, I just need a good tool to spread it over my face and neck without bring harsh on my skin.

I just wanted to see guidance what people who have sensitive skin are using for foundation application as I do want to replace my kabuki brushes. Thanks.

Re: Soft and gentle foundation brush recommendations please

@CattyT3 ,

I've been using SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO Foundation Brush #64 , and I like it a lot.  I don't find it super soft, but because the bristles fan out, it disperses pretty well.

Elf has a velvety feeling brush that I used for a while, not sure if it's still in production, will come back to add and edit

So it used to be called the selfie ready foundation brush 🤷🏽‍♀️, I think it's been replaced by the blurring foundation brush.

Sonia G also just released sheer buffer, which is aimed for liquids and cream bronzers, but could be still used for foundation.  She usually puts excellent comparisons of brushes in her blog post (Sweet Temptations) and does mention how the products would apply.  Sheer buffer sounds like the application you described.  Brush is sold at Beautylish.

Re: Soft and gentle foundation brush recommendations please

Thank you for the suggestions - I'll put the Sephora one on my radar to look at - and I have been curious about ELF products so I'll put that on my list of brands to check at ULTA. I'll look through the Sonia G brushes but on first glance there's a lovely variety of brush head shapes to look through.

Re: Soft and gentle foundation brush recommendations please

@CattyT3 @Artis Oval 10 is a game changer and used to be sold at Sephora.

Re: Soft and gentle foundation brush recommendations please

Thank you for the suggestion, I've never heard of this brand before. I actually completely forgot about the oval brush craze that I saw in several makeup videos a few years back, so I'll definitely look to see if any other brands that are a little more budget friendly can provide me a decent alternative to consider.

Re: Soft and gentle foundation brush recommendations please

@CattyT3 I have bought ones that were similar from MAC and Morphe and they are okay. Not the same quality as Artis.

Re: Soft and gentle foundation brush recommendations please

Ooh great I'll definitely check if I can look at them in a MAC or ULTA store near me soon.
Thank you.

Re: Soft and gentle foundation brush recommendations please

@CattyT3 @The ones I have from

Morphe and MAC are from years ago. They don’t make them anymore.  I think Real Techniques makes one still.

Re: Soft and gentle foundation brush recommendations please

Oh that's unfortunate, but I have had a good time using real techniques blush and powder brushes, so if my search in a few stores isn't fruitful I'll fall back on that. Thank you for the information.
