Recommendations for Setting Powder

Buongiorno tutti! (Hello everyone!)

I’m looking for a new setting powder. I need something that is sensitive skin- and dry skin-friendly and won’t make me look cakey or textured. Doesn’t have to be something from Sephora, I’m open to good drugstore brands too. (Gotta love those PC Optimum points!)

I also recently discovered non-powder setting powder? Mally Beauty Poreless Face Defender Blurring Primer & Blotting Setting Powder. It doesn’t seem to be available in Canada as far as I can tell but if anyone has suggestions for alternatives that are available, I’m all ears.

Re: Recommendations for Setting Powder

I have dry skin and I love the Laura Mercier No Talc Translucent powder (white lid). I just use a light dusting and I’m good to go. Skin doesn’t feel tight nor looks cakey. Now don’t get the one with the brown lid. That version tend to dry me out. Good luck.

Re: Recommendations for Setting Powder

Thank you @Tonorah! I have tried the brown one and it did totally dry me out. Thanks for the tip!

Re: Recommendations for Setting Powder

Thanks for the recommendation @SportyGirly125! Are you using the natural finish shade? Do you find that it has any influence on your foundation?

I’m using a translucent powder from Covergirl and I find I can only use on areas that I want to brighten. I can’t use it anywhere else to set my foundation because it lightens wherever I use it and it no longer matches the rest of me. I’m wondering if all translucent powders do this or just this one.

Re: Recommendations for Setting Powder

@JoSometimes @I am using the translucent shade.  It has no effect on my foundation. In all the photos you see me post I am using that underneath my eyes to set my concealer which I put on top of my foundation. I use different powders on my t zone and all over the face.  Even if I bake with it where I want to clean up any edges on my face it doesn’t really do much to my base. I don’t find it really lightening it.

Thanks for the info @SportyGirly125!

Re: Recommendations for Setting Powder

I really enjoy the Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Setting and Finishing Powder 2 Satin Blanc . I am not sure how it is on sensitive skin though. There is also a mini size# Givenchy Mini Prisme Libre Illuminating & Color Correcting Loose Powder

Re: Recommendations for Setting Powder

Thank you for the recommendation @Mellmars1185. I checked the minis and my shade is out of stock. I signed up for an email notification for when it does come back in stock.
