Hey! Does anyone have any tips or pointers in how to apply makeup around lip and nose piercings? My piercings are healed but I’m still afraid they’ll be infected/ get lipstick and foundation everywhere (lip) any advice would be helpful!

GREAT QUESTION! I formerly worked as a piercing artist and am now an MUA so I’m going to give you the standard advice I gave to my clients as a piercer and still give today... 1. Make sure that you’ve given them the fully recommended time to heal before you put anything on. (Because I don’t know exactly which lip/nose piercing you got I can’t give you an exact but your piercing artist should have, generally 2-4 weeks sometimes up to 6 though) 2. After that time apply your complexion products around the nose piercing gently blend slightly less product around the piercing with clean fingers/ brush/sponge your choice and then take some alcohol (makeup remover is better than nothing but no oil based ones) on a q tip and clean the actual ring. You don’t have to clean around it yet just remove the actual product from the nose ring, you will do the same in the next step for your lip ring. 3. Apply your lip products the same way you normally would but skip the area with the piercing and applying that area with a lip brush is best until FULLY healed. After use the q tip method to remove any product from the actual ring. 4. When the day is done and your through with your face that is slayed and beat to the Gods! After you remove your makeup like you normally would pay special attention to clean around the piercings and the jewelry either with whatever your artist recommended or H2 ocean is my personal favorite since it helps combat infection and speeds heeling time there’s also the tried and true regular Dial Gold bar of soap. If your using the soap only use that bar for your piercings nothing else. You just use a q tip for either of these and then wet the other side and twist the piercing to rinse and make sure any makeup that may have gotten in or soap is out! Yes! I recently got one and its pretty easy to apply!If you use liquid foundation apply like you would but when your putting it on your nose put it everywhere around the piercing blend it in then gently blend in to where the nose ring is! 🙂 I hope this helps! NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Full Coverage Foundation Punjab - Medium 1 Great foundation for me!!
