Overwhelmed

Hi. I am overwhelmed by all the options and don't want to wear to much. What do I do??

Re: Overwhelmed

Get a clean skin tone (I love a light powder foundation), clear mascara gel to tame eyebrows, clean and light color on eyelids (I just use my concealer), light hand on your mascara, and tinted lip (baby lips, tinted Vaseline...) 🙃

Re: Overwhelmed

good skincare to help your skin tone without makeup makes a huge difference.

otherwise skip foundation, dot on concealer, fill in brows and mascara , lipbalm= good to go 🙂

Re: Overwhelmed

I've found that an even skin tone makes the biggest difference in appearance when starting with makeup. A tinted moisturizer, concealer, and a setting powder goes a long way. The right tinted moisturizer can also help you solve a lot of skin problems (acne, oiliness, dryness, redness, ect).

Re: Overwhelmed

It can be overwhelming @Anonymous. When I started I hated Sephora stores because it was too much! Think of features you want to play up; do you want to cover anything? Or do you want just a put together look. You may need a lipstick, bronzer and mascara. That may be a great look. Or instead of bronzer, a blush. Once you pic what you want to play up, think about colors you like and start there. Another great way to get ideas is have an appointment at Sephora to havenyour makeup done. That will help show what someone who does this all the time thinks you look good in and you can decide if that works for you or not. Don't stress though; have fun with it!

Re: Overwhelmed

concealer, LIP TINT for lips and cheeks (it's a must!), brow gel, curl your lashes and mascara is optional. 🙂

@Anonymous

Have you tried sorting by price? If you're not willing to pay more than, say, $25 for a blush, for example, that eliminates 3/4ths of the available face products. Since the store is usually arranged by brand, if you just skip looking at brands that are out of your preferred price range you can cut down a lot on what you have to look at.

Re: Overwhelmed

I think most women are when they enter into Sephora haha! I think complexion is key. A lighter foundation, concealer and brows.

Lighter foundations can include tinted moisturizer like NARS velvet Matte. OR BB cream, like Smashbox, or CC cream (color correcting) also by smashbox or it cosmetics. All of those items have skin care included and spf, so its a good place to start.  OR regular foundations that have light coverage include urban decay naked or lancome cushion foundation.

Concealer is about preference, I'm not sure what type of coverage you're looking for, but if you just want something to brighten the eyes and cover any imperfections, the Sephora brand concealer (not high coverage) is really good. Sometimes on no makeup days, I just wear that and brows.

Brows are the most important for me :). Benefit Goof Proof is great! The consistency is great, and it has amazing staying power and its a fast fix to brows.

Hope this helped, and wasn't overwhelming as well!

Re: Overwhelmed

Hi! What kinds of makeup looks are you interested in, and what features do you want to play up? I'd probably start with a base (tinted moisturizer, BB cream, or foundation depending on what level of coverage you want), mascara, and a lipstick. Maybe a blush. If you can let us know a price range, we can definitely give specific recommendations.
