Make up for a 12-year-old

Does anybody have any recommendations for what type of make up a 12-year-old should wear? if you have any brand recommendations I got a gift card for $40 so I’m trying to get any make up under $40.

I’m not sure if your card is specifically for Sephora or if it’s a regular gift card but if it’s for sephora specifically then definitely check out the sephora collection, they have some pretty good stuff that’s cheaper and isn’t too much for a tween. 

If your card is just a general gift card then check out Essence, Colourpop (if you’re looking for a ‘base’ their tinted moisturizer is nice), and Pixi (their blushes are easy to apply and natural looking)

Sephora collection is really good and affordable, I think for a twelve year old all you really need is blush and mascara and concealer if you want it. It kind of depends on how your skin is. My faves are:

@saltysweetsugar Look at Sephora Collection. They have some more affordable things and they work really well. You’d be able to get 2-3 things vs. 1, maybe 2 things from other brands with your gift card. Some are rumoured to be dupes of more expensive makeup too. I use them in my regular makeup routine.

When you start shopping around, swatch it on your arm or face and see if you like how it feels and looks. It’ll also help you see if you might have a reaction to it. I know social influencers will tell you to try different brands but makeup is so personal. What works for them might not work for you. It’s your makeup and you want something that feels nice, looks great, and makes you happy. What other people think doesn’t matter. Happy shopping!
