Is setting spray necessary?

Hi! I hope I’m not sounding like an idiot, but is makeup setting spray and/or makeup primer necessary when all I usually wear is light eyeshadow and some lip tint?

I’m always seeing people online use primers and setting sprays, but I’m not wearing as much makeup than them… Will light makeup “melt” off? 

haha, I’m not too much of a makeup expert and would love some input 🙂

@hellovanessa @You don’t have to use primers/setting spray if you don’t want to. I think they do help with the longevity of the makeup.
