It doesn't seem like a lot, but when I lay it all out, it looks a bit crazy 🙂
These are my daily must-use products:
1. Avene Mineral Lotion Sunscreen
2. Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer
3. MUFE Ultra HD Under-eye concealer
4. Lancome or Armani Foundation
5. Tarte Shape Tape or Nars Soft Matte Concealer elsewhere if needed
6. RMS Powder
7. ABH Brow Pencil to help outline
8. ABH Brow Powder to fill in the front
9. ABH Pomade or Goof Proof Brow for the tails
10. ABH Brow Gel
12. UD or Too Faced shadow primer
13. 2-4 eye shadows (depends how I feel)
14. Eyeliner
15. Mascara
16. Laura Mercier Bronzer
17. Blush (various brands)
18. Highlight (CT or Hourglass)
19. Lippy of some sort
20. Mist (various brands) depends if my skin feels dry or makeup looks cakey
Not too crazy right? hehe
How many items do you guys use?
Some days more, some days less, but here's an average routine for me in the fall/winter for a Monday to Friday work day (I go way lighter in the summer and use different products)
1. moisturizer of some sort (using up a Deciem one right now)
2. Clinique Even Better foundation
3. Nars concelear
4. Too Faced Born This Way setting powder
5. Benefit Dallas bronzer
6. Nars blush palette
7. Kat Von D Lock It eyeliner
8. Eyeshadow (using a palette with a mix of ABH, Makeup Geek and MAC)
9. Mist of Sephora setting spray (I mist before mascara because when I mist after mascara always ends up on my face - I have long lashes)
10. Mascara
Oh boy... here it goes....I"ll state everything after my last step of skincare on a work day.
1) Sunscreen (a must non-negotiable, rain, sun, every day of the week) everywhere.
2) Eyeshadow (rarely use eyeshadow primer. my cream shadows double as a base)
3) Eyeliner or eyeshadow tightlined.
4) Nars Pore perfecting primer on my nose mostly.
5) Foundation as needed.
6) Setting powder (optional)
7) Cheek product ( could be blush, bronzer, highlight or contour. All or some or none) I"ve been playing with the Fenty matchsticks lately. Pretty efficient looks I'd say.
😎 Mascara
9) Lip pencil only. ( drink my latte out of a disposable cup in the car so to avoid transference, lipstick/gloss goes on after I finish my first cup but right before I get into the office . That application should last me until lunch.)
I don't have a set order. There are mornings where I"m not sure what eyes to do so cheeks go first and I work my way up. It's more time consuming because then I have to go back and clean up any fall out with my trusty fan brush and powder.
On non work days....
1)sunscreen
2) Powder foundation
3) Mascara
4) Nars Multiple South Beach
5) Nars Velvet Lip Glide Stripped.
Phew! Done.
I have been pretty lazy lately, so my list is pretty short:
1. Becca Primer
2. Tom Ford Traceless Foundation mixed with Koh Gen Do Aqua
3. Clinique Powder
4. ABH brow wiz
5. Lorac Liquid Eyeliner
6. La Mer lipbalm
I normally do just a basic look for everyday to go to work, it switches up a bit on nights where I go out somewhere different. But as per morning work routines here we go:
1. Sephora collection - Green colour corrector
2. Dream Matte Mouse Foundation
3. Nars Creamy Radiant concealer
4. Laura Mercier setting powder
5. Smashbox contour set (sometimes just to bronze, others for a whole contour look)
6. Anastasia highlight pallete, switch up the shade depending on the day lol
7. tarte brow clay
8. too faced lip injection glossy
9. Tarte 4 in one mascara (this is just my current one i usually switch this up)
I normally go for the easiest and quickest way to get ready so, i normally dont do anything more unless i really have the time for it.... and lets be honest here... i like my sleep too much.
Oooh, fun!
Most days, my makeup is pretty basic/minimalist for work unless I have meetings or an after-work event to attend.
Now, that it's all written out, it seems like a lot for a minimalist look, but it all applies pretty quickly.
For days when I have a more made-up face for work, same routine as above, but I'll use NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base before applying the face primer, then face primer, then I'll do my eye makeup - eye shadow will be any combination of Burberry Wet & Dry Silk Eyeshadow in Pale Barley, Almond or Midnight Brown, depending on my mood, how much time I have or the occasion, followed by Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Brown or Black. Once I'm done with my eyeshadow, I'll move on to my base; foundation rotates between Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 4 or 4.5 and Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Nude or Warm Nude. I'll continue on with my routine except I will use a lip liner and top off my lippie with a gloss, and finish with a coat or two of mascara - Lancôme Hypnose Drama Waterproof Mascara or Fairydrops Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara.
Omgee i switch up too much to really answer this! Haha but for the most part it takes me longer working with skincare products...but just make up?
*I know this is skincare bt i ALWAYS have to use the First Aid exfoliating pads (awesome stuff!) THEN
*Moisturize with Dr Jarts water infused mixed with Tartes Brighter Days(sometimes GlamGlows highlighting moisturizer)
*Prime with Smashbox photo finish in radiance OR HG mineral veil
*Add Perricone MDs face finisher
*Color Correct under eye bags with Hard Candys color correcting in dark orange(or MUFEs step 2)
*Foundation-I switch up often but ALWAYS mix Sephoras brightening concealer with two small lines on each cheek of MUFE foundation stick and brush out with my HG foundation brush,Tarte Bamboo Airbrush
**then use whatever foundation or bronzer i want to finish with over that..sounds like alot bt i use very little honestly..my usual go to foundations are MUFE HD,MJs ReMarcable,B.Browns foundation stick and Estee Edits pink peony OR if using bronzer i love Too Faced chocolate or their Sweet Tea swirled together (last one! lol,if I'm in a rush,Bare Minerals Original powder foundation is amazzzinggg)
*Brows ABH Brow Wiz nothing else can beat Brow Wiz imo
*Eyeliner either MJ Highliner or U.Decay 24/7 pencil
*Mascara..too many i love..guess my go-tos would have to be Stila Huge Exteme Lash and MJ Velvet Noir
*Not big on eyeshadow bt when i use i go with Beccas highlighters!
*Lips Too Faced lip injection along with Baby Lips in pretty pink
*Setting Sprays/Powders..i do not use BUT if i do,at the beach ectra,i always have UD deslick and a Glamglow travel on hand (forgot name, pink bottle 🙂
(NOTE: i wear nothing except moisturizer when i use the Tarte brazilliance face self tanner wipes! They really work well!)
How many - too many! I really am high maintenance when I write it down (and this doesn't include skincare items). All this to get a "natural" look.
1. Smashbox primer water (as a hydrating mist)
2. Smashbox BB Cream for eyes (under eyes)
3. UD Eye Potion primer/corrector in Eden
4. NYX felt tip eyebrow pencil or Maybelline brow pencil
5. Anastasia brow gel
6. UD, Burberry, Smashbox eyeshadows
7. Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara (I've gone through more brands than I want to count)
8. Kat Von D liquid or UD 24/7 pencil eyeliner
9. Bare Minerals Top Coat (clear waterproof mascara - discontinued, wah!!!)
10. Nars Pore and Shine Control Primer
11. Lancome, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox, Bare Minerals, Sephora or Maybelline Fit Me foundation (rotating formula/shade depending on time of year and how cranky my skin is being )
12.Lancome Maquicomplet Concealer, where needed
13. L'Oreal True Match or Rimmel Stay Matte powder
14. Nars, Paula's Choice, Mary Kay, or Estee Lauder blush
15. Sometimes Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer or Charlotte Tilbury highlighter.
16. UD de-Slick
17. Lipstick/gloss or balm (way many brands to list)
Plus, I am never without my Clean and Clear blotting sheets (very oily skin) and my Kat Von D Lock It for touch ups.
Oh yeah, mine doesn't include skincare either (except for my SPF step). That's a whole other book. 🙂
I have a lot of products, but I could probably pare my list down to ~12 products if I cut out the optional stuff, and if I didn't have 2 different powders and 2 different concealers, as well as mascara base AND top coat. I also use a hydrating under eye primer which could kinda count as skincare, but since I apply it after my Hourglass primer I'll count it as makeup 🙂
1. Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
2. Smashbox Under eye primer
3. Too Faced Shadow Insurance (or other, like LORAC) - I use this even without eyeshadow because it prevents greasy lids
4. ABH Powder duo or brow pencil
5. Brow gel (optional, depending on day)
6. Eyeshadow (optional, depending on day)
7. Rimmel liquid eyeliner or I'll smudge a black pencil
8. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer for under eyes
9. Cinema Secrets powder to set under eye
10. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for spots
11. Maybelline Better Skin powder
12. Bronzer (seasonal option...I skip if I'm really light already)
13. Blush
14. Highlighter (optional, depends on mood)
15. Finishing powder (optional, depends if I remember/on my mood)
16. Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base
17. Mascara
18. NYX Proof It! Lash top coat (optional, depends on the mascara I'm using)
19. Lipstick
What a fun thread @mmmiu! 😄
Everyday must have:
1. Nivea sunscreen
2. Innisfree Makeup Base - purple
3. Too Faced Born This Way
4. A peachy blush
5. Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar & Glow
6. ABH Brow Gel - Granite
7. A lip tint
Hmmmm...my must-have routine is:
1. eyeshadow primer
2. eyeshadow
3. eyeliner
4. mascara
5. lipstick
6. maybe a dusting of Mario Badescu Special Healing Powder if I'm feeling shiny
And that used to be it until very recently! But I'm starting to play a bit with face products too, so it looks more like this now:
1. LM tinted moisturizer
2. Benefit Gimme Brow
3. eye primer
4. eyeshadow
5. eyeliner
6. mascara
7. blush
8. highlighter
9. Laura Geller Ethereal Rose face powder
10. lipstick
11. Fragrance
The caveat here is that with all these extra products that are new to my routine, I typically forget one if not more lol. If I remember the tinted moisturizer, I forget to do my brows. Remembered brows? Mascara will be completely forgotten. And I can only remember perfume if I forget at least 3 steps above 😛
I think my every day work look is pretty basic in terms of steps - on the weekends I generally have more steps if I am going out
1.Primer (murad, hourglass or nars )
2. founation/bb cream (I've been trading off with the dr. jart dis a por and the hourglass vanish stick a lot recently )
3. Concealer (this week i've been mostly using nars but I have a bunch so it changes)
4. powder (been loving my elf one this week)
5. Brow pencil (i'm obsessed with the winky luxe one we got in boxy charm a few months ago)
6. 7. 8. Bronzer, Blush, Highlight ( I have way too many of all of these but I have been seriously loving my abh blush trio and the hourglass palette)
9. Setting spray
10. Mascara
11. Lippie ( I have way too many to pick a brand - i'm obsessed with all the mini sets I get from sephora I love having choices)
That's actually less than I thought.
I'm so jealous you can actually use the peach products. There is something in them that my skin REALLY doesn't like. I tried the eyeshadow palette right when it came out and my eyes got so swollen I could barely keep them open after like 30 minutes.
During the work week:
1) First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 (technically still skincare but it has my SPF)
2) Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer
3) Bobbi Brown Color Corrector
4) Too Faced Born This Way foundation
5) NARS Creamy Concealer
6) Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder
7) Kat Von D Shade & Light Contouring Palette
😎 tarte seduce blush
9) Burberry Rose Gold Highlighter
10) NARS matte Laguna bronzer
11) ABH Tinted brow gel
12) Urban Decay lid primer
13) Kat Von D tattoo liern
14) Naked 3 palette or bronzer
15) Burberry Cat Lashes in Black
16) Urban Decay clear lip liner
17) Lipstick of the day
18) Urban Decay setting spray
And...as I'm sure we all know from the YouTube videos: "Since no look is complete without fragrance"
19) Fragrance of the day (my new favorite is the Burberry My Blush)
So, no...I don't think 20 products is too crazy. 🙂
Weekends when I'm only leaving the house for the grocery store:
1) IT cosmetics CC cream
2) tarte seduce blush
3) Burberry Cat Lashes mascara
