Hobby, phase, or passion?

I am still quite young as I mentioned in my past post, but now I’m unsure whether makeup is just a hobby, a “phase,” or a passion. I’ve always liked makeup ever since I could remember things. I’ve just recently (the past year) REALLY gotten into makeup as a profession, sfx makeup, and how to make makeup actually look like it does on the models. My parents think it’s just a phase I’m going through but this is the only time I’ve ever been so serious about something and so passionate about anything. Advice?

Make up should always be fun! The concern sometimes for parents is that you're not looking after your skin. You want to focus on how to look after youth skin and take care of your brushes! For some people make up is a hobby and for some it is a passion that leads onto a career. That can take time and a lot of studying (but there are a lot of very talented self taught artists). Make up can also tie into art, fashion and history so maybe broaden out a little and show them the vast opportunities you can have!
