I’m waving my white flag 🏳️ I need help haha 

tldr: haus labs foundation does not stay on my face even soon after application. What gives?!

Two months before I turned 40, my skin decided it would change itself and throw me for a loop. The Charlotte Tillbury foundation I had used for years suddenly looked cakey on my face.

I upped my moisturizer, I stopped my zero oil toner, I tried non-mattifying primer… I did all the things but I couldn’t get it to work. 

I switched to Haus Labs foundation in June and I’ve never had a shade match me so perfectly. I wanted this foundation to work so badly but it just doesn’t stay on my face. 

Again, I did all the things: grip primer, waited longer between moisturizer and primer and primer and foundation, use brush, use fingers, use less, use more, change setting spray… nothing works!!

I think I’ve tried every primer there is 🫤 

Am I missing some magical secret to this? It wipes off so easily- I can’t even believe it. If not, which foundation do I try now? I am not thrilled with Dior Backstae either.

It's not you. Haha Labs is just a bad formula and Tillbiry may have changed formula. Try Laura Mercier Real Flawless Perfecting foundation. I have oily skin and sweat bullets throughout the day (thanks PeriMenopause!) and this stuff is BULLETPROOF! It's silicone based and doesn't settle in lines or pores. 

As for your skin changes... welcome to "Mature" skin! Every cell in Our entire body changes over every 7 years, inside and out. Once you get into 40's your estrogen drops which leads to dry skin and less elasticity. Peptides, ceramides and AHA's help.

@micheleny24 , sorry to hear you're having so much trouble with your base. ( I assure you though, aging isn't that bad.  Beats the alternative.)

You've been pretty specific and have done what's typically advised, so what is the exact issue with foundation when you say it doesn't stay on your face??  For example, when mine separates, it's usually oil + too much product.  So, I apply residual amounts (what is left on the brush) on those areas as opposed to what I was doing.   If it's heat/excessive sweat, I might mix my foundation with setting spray.  If it disappeared, I might mix foundation with my primer and apply.

it doesn’t stick to my skin even with setting powder and spray. It’s always slippery on my skin and wipes off with the slightest touch. I tried it without primer and it worked better but not great! Maybe it’s just not the foundation for me 😩 the color is perfect ugh!

@micheleny24 .  Yeah, sometimes the foundation that works for so many didn't work for you.. But, I'd still give it one more try!!   I think you have to add/mix something in to get it to stay.  You can try mixing your foundation with setting spray like I suggested or mixing it with a different primer.  I suggest a gripping one like MILK MAKEUP Hydro Grip Hydrating Makeup Primer with Hyaluronic Acid + Niacinamide 1.52 / 45 mL  , Bobbi Brown Mini Vitamin Enriched Face Base Moisturizer & Primer with Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid 0.50 oz/ 15 mL  or The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer 1 oz/ 30 mL  .

I’ve tried all those primers already 😢 

I am off this upcoming week so I might play around with it and see what I come up with. I’ll try the setting spray tip and mixing with the primer . Thank you so much
