Choosing between foundations by Tarte and Fenty

I can't decide what new foundation to get. I'm deciding between: Tarte Babassu Foundcealer; Tarte Sea Water; Fenty soft matte; and the Fenty hydrating. Until now the only foundation I have used (that has lasted me three years) is the Estee Lauder double wear foundation. I'm looking to try something new and maybe different from the Estee Lauder one, which is pretty full coverage and matte. Could someone kindly help me compare these foundations or recommend which one you feel is best? THANK YOU!

RE: Choosing between foundations by Tarte and Fenty

I’ve tried both and would never purchase Fenty again! It dried out my skin to the point where I developed dermatitis. The Foundcealer applies beautifully and leaves minimal dry patches for someone with dry skin or combination skin. I admit that occasionally it may appear waxy.

Hi @Ranj7

Former Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place 24-Hour Longwear Foundation 4W4 Hazel wearer myself.
The TARTE - babassu foundcealer™ skincare foundation SPF 20 is not a matte finish like Estee, it’s actually quite dewy. You haven’t stated what kind of finish you are looking for so thought I would point that out. Also it will transfer.
The Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Liquid Foundation 445 won’t be good if you have dry skin but is somewhat most comparable to Estee just without the SPF in it.

Re: Choosing between foundations by Tarte and Fenty

I've been wearing Tarte's Foundclear foundation for about a year now.  I have shades for winter and summer and love them.  Good buildable coverage.  Good shade range.  Dewy finish - it will transfer but I lock it in with a setting spray.  Even in the worst heat and humidity it doesn't break or run.

I had really dry skin and after a few months of regular facials, paired with good moisturizers, I found this foundation with the Milk Hydrogrip Primer as my winning combo.  No dry, painful skin.  No irritations.

I love it so much I have just purchased a top-up supply on the Tarte's end of year sale.
