Burning sensation with UD Eyeshadow Primer Potion? Other recommendations?

Hi All, I tried the UD primer potion in a Sephora class and then again in store during and eye mini shadow application. I realized that I had burning sensation on my lids soon after applying that and also after cleaning the make-up few hours later, very watery eyes (tears rolling down) for 1-2 hours. I initially thought I scratched myself with brushes by pressing too hard or blending too much but after the mini service in store few weeks after the class, similar experience so I think it might be the primer.

I bought the duo pack of UD Shadow Primer potion since SA had recommended it highly during the class, thankfully had not opened yet. I used the shadows (not blending as much as in class) at home without any primer and didn't have burning sensation.

Anyone else experienced that?

Also, what other primer do you recommend (I searched old posts and US was the most recommended one)?

I have the same burning sensation. Sometimes after using it my eyes get puffy, and for a while I thought it was my Morphe Pallets but when I didnt use the primer I was fine. I wonder if I'm Allergic to any ingredients... or I should find a new primer because the UD primer still creases.

@missjeanie @RGbrown @SportyGirly125 Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into these. I think I might have a smashbox sample somewhere around, need to dig it out. Also a too faced shadow insurance sample that I randomly got with my recent order.

Maybe I'll do the crazy thing and try UD in one eye one more time and another one in the other to see if its the primer or just my crazy blending 😛 though I doutb it since I was using the pro brushes in the class plus two times at home I used the shadow without the primer and it was fine.

I've never had the burning with the UD primer, I just never really liked it.  I still got creasing with it.  I use the Nars pro prime.  It's particularly great for oily eyelids.  I wear it 5-7 days a week and a tube lasts me almost a year (I pull the stopper out and get another month or so use).  I use way less of this than I would with the UD primer as well.  I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Nars!

@naturalooks15

I highly highly recommend Smashbox 24Hr Shadow Primer (and it works better for me than UD anyways 😛 ).

Another highly recommended one to try is NARS (I haven't tried it yet, but have a sample lined up based on all the glowing praise I've seen for it).

@naturalooks15 I have never had that happen to me with the Urban Decay primer potion and I tried it in different colors. Maybe you are allergic to one of the ingredients. My go to primer is MAC Prep and Primer 24 Hour Eye Base.
