20% Coupon Code for reaching Rouge status

Question for everyone else out there . . . 

I've noticed that some of my friends who reached Rouge status again for the upcoming year received a separate coupon code that is valid for 20% off through 12/31/18 -- so it's not the Rouge holiday sale code.  But I've noticed that only some receive it, and not all who requalify for Rouge.

Sound familiar to anyone?  It kind of annoys me that Sephora does stuff like this and also doesn't allow Rouges to shop all of the weekends for the sale (I've noticed some stuff has come back in stock that went out of stock quickly during the Rouge sale that I now can't get because the upcoming weekend is just for VIBs).

I’m annoyed too. I’m a Rouge, and I also heard about the 20% off till the end of this year (weekends). But I DONT get it because I’m the highest tier. Stupid! I also noticed that the “ out of stock “ happens very suspiciously during sales...

Afternoon,

I re-rouged during the sale last weekend.  On Tuesday I got an e-mail with a 20% off code that I could use one time in store or online for the sale weekend with the VIB's this coming weekend (Nov 9-12).

"Since you have reached ROUGE status after ROUGE-only weekend shopping event, we didn't want you to miss out on the offer so we created a unique one-time use code just for you!"

I thought it was a bit odd since I've been rouge for years now.  I'm imagining this was sent out to anyone who re-upped over the second weekend?

Hi @hilldn! Did they receive this by email?  Do you have more details on what it says on the coupon? Like sometimes it's we missed you at the last sale or something like that. Thx!

The two friends who received it got it via email after they requalified for Rouge status during the sale - I was in the same situation.  The email just said thanks for being a loyal customer here's another 20% for achieving Rouge status.  They didn't spend a crazy amount during the sale, just enough to get them back to Rouge for next year.

So, I'm confused by this, as I became Rouge for the first time during this sale, and thus also got a code for this weekend. I don't really understand the point. I reached Rouge because I was shopping the 20% off VIB code, and the temporary Rouge code they emailed is also 20% for this same weekend only. So I earned exactly what I already had? Is that correct? Or was there something else special about shopping the Rouge Sale vs. VIB?

@hilldn I have not heard about that one.  I know Sephora gives customers a 10% code for re-qualifying.

That's for VIB... new VIB's IIRC... I think rouge members had problems with this code when they re-qualified as VIB in 2018. @SportyGirly125

@veronika23 I have tried the code while being Rouge and it worked but only one time per year.

@SportyGirly125  lucky that it worked for you! Previous years it worked for me (as rouge) except this year it didn't work... and I remember seeing some chatter about it. When rouge members re-qualified as VIB this year the code no longer worked for them... even though it hadn't been used this year.
