dry lips πŸ™

I have crazy dry lips. I exfoliate twice a day but my lips still get so dry. I love lip colour but when my lips are so dry the colour looks cracked and dull. What are some products you guys love to help moisturize your lips?

Re: dry lips πŸ™

I’ve thoroughly exhausted myself in this quest.

I have sensitivity to a lot of lip products, so I’ll recommend stuff others love and stuff that I love.

Me!:

jack black balms

Aerin lip conditioner

Dior lip balm (the pink squeeze tube one)

others (I personally hate these because they’ve cracked my skin, gave me an allergic reaction, or didn’t work. Others swear by them):

rosebud lip balms

bite beauty agave lip mask

fresh lip balms

I have the same issue!!! I love Matte liquid lipsticks but they always end up looking cakey when I don’t moisturize. Usually I exfoliate with a sugar scrub then moisturize my face and lips with a face lotion, then I use a lip butter or cream. Good luck!πŸ’“

I use a sugar scrub and then use coconut oil!

Re: dry lips πŸ™

you may actually be over exfoliating your lips and making the issue worse.  the skin on your lips is thinner than the skin on your face and most face exfoliators say to use 3 times a week.  try exfoliating less often and seeing if that helps.

in terms of lip balms i love the nivea hydra care.  i've tried high end balms and treatments and drugstore brands and the nivea seems to keep my lips in top shape

I have extremely dry lips also. I have tried the Laneige sleep mask and the bite beauty agave lip mask and the fresh sugar caramel lip balm, along with every chapstick sold in Walmart and drugstores and while my lips would feel good with the product on them it wouldn’t last at all. Within the hour they didn’t have a moisturizing product on them they would be painfully dry and chapped. Until recently I tried the Grandelips hydrating lip plumper. I put this on ONE time in the morning and my lips feel wonderful all day long. Then I put it on at night to go to sleep. The packaging is annoying but the product is worth it.

@Anonymous I wonder if exfoliating twice a day is perhaps too much for your lips? I’m prone to dry lips and I can’t exfoliate more than 1-2 times per week or my lips turn into a cracked, peeling mess. Instead, I use Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask 5 or 6 days per week, applying it 1 to 3 times daily (as needed). My lips are completely hydrated, healthy, and quite plump as a result. It’s a great product.

My holy grail is the Hanalei Lip Treatment.

RE: dry lips πŸ™

I typically have try lips due to me wearing matte liquid lip products EVERYDAY. I started using FRESH LIP CARAMEL at night and omg, my lips are so moisturized and supple! I can’t live without it!!!

RE: dry lips πŸ™

Laneige Lip sleeping mask at night at the Bite Agave Mask throughout the day! That’s my go-to.

RE: dry lips πŸ™

I love the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask! It's so hydrating and keeps my lips super soft! During the day, I like to use the Bite Agave Lip Mask, which includes 3 different color and a clear one. I also use the Dior Lip Addict but I find it to not be as hydrating for the drier weather. Also, using a lip scrub to help smooth out your lips is a must (I like the Bite Agave Lip Scrub). I used to have very chapped lips but after using these products, my lips have never been chapped!

RE: dry lips πŸ™

my lips also get super dry, especially during the winter months, it sucks! my lips will get so chapped and painful they will literally weep this disgusting clear liquid. anyways, aquaphor is a godsend for this problem. it’s basically like vaseline, except contains a healing ointment. it’s pretty cheap and like $6 at the drug store and i swear by it being one of the greatest things i use. it keeps moisture in and doesn’t look too unnatural and greasy. at night i literally smear this stuff on my lips so when i wake up they aren’t dried out!

Vaseline works wonders!!!

RE: dry lips πŸ™

Carmex! I swear buy it. Cheap and works great. I’m never without a tube. Nothing seems to work as well. I don’t have any problem using it with lip colors either. ❀️

I’ve tried a lot of things... but I honestly think plain old chapstick brand chapstick is the best thing I’ve used. I don’t hate the bite agave lip mask... but I don’t think it’s quite as good... and it costs way more.

This is a huge problem for me year round... now I just keep lip balmsstashed all over the place at home (nightstand, vanity, kitchen counter, living room end table, etc) so that I remember to use them whenever I see one. I buy drugstore brands to keep the cost from getting out of hand - Eos and Burt's Bees. Then I wear lipstick only when out for the day, or a tinted balm if I'm really in bad shape. But wearing lip balm or a lip mask overnight has made the most noticeable difference.

(Also, the Sephora lip masks are terrible and dehydrating for some reason, so I'd recommend avoiding those. The regular sheet masks are fine though.)
