What lipstick works best?

I want to use a "dry" lipstick, but it always looks cracked on my lips. Any tips to make the lipstick work, but to keep the "dry" look?

My favorite way to make dry lips wearable is too exfoliate my lips first and tap then with water (not saliva) and press my lips together a few times until the water is mostly absorbed. I can finish with my Tom Ford matte lips or I can prime with

MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Lip Primer 0.05 oz/ 1.7 g  if I feel I need it 

TOM FORD Lip Color Lipstick 04 Indian Rose 

TOM FORD Lip Color Matte Lipstick Pussy Cat

Some of my favourite lipsticks that don’t feel drying or look cracky on my lips are DIOR Dior Addict Lip Glow 01 Pink which has a really smooth texture that glides on and just feels light on the lips.

  PAT McGRATH LABS LuxeTrance™ Lipstick Profumo , another great smooth lipstick that glides on easily and looks nice and smooth on my lips. 

I also like Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Hydrating Lipstick Pillow Talk 🙂 

one thing that really helps create a good base for the lipstick is ensuring you use a lip mask at night or when you’re not wearing lipstick. I love the Tower 28 Beauty LipSoftie™ Hydrating Tinted Lip Treatment Balm . It really softens and hydrates the lips to help minimize the texture and makes for a nicer lipstick application.
