WTH do I do with a lip liner?!

I am very much new to the lip game. when do I use lip liner? do I use it with certain products? how to use with lip stain, lip gloss, lip stick, liquid lip, ahhh. idk where even to start. literally only have ONE liner and I use it with make up forever Acrylip in eggplant. the stick is from nyx and I have no idea what I'm doing. is clear lip liner a thing? do people use it?

Lip liner is generally used to keep lipstick from feathering and apply evenly around the lip line so it looks neat...you use it before you fill in with actual lipstick. It isn’t absolutely necessary, but it certainly helps! And yes, clear lip liners do exist, and I tend to use them most instead of buying a liner in every color, but they mostly just help with feathering and not so much with making a neat line
