@rebecavaquiz In addition to all the great suggestions below, I’ll recommend something not sold at Sephora: Violette_FR Petal Bouche shade Amour Fou. It’s a gorgeous neutral rose red in a surprisingly comfy (non-drying) liquid matte formula. It has this magical customizable opacity that makes your lips look like rose petals, and it lasts a long time. Lemme find my lip swatch photos…

I might come back later with a few more suggestions. Is there a certain finish you prefer (matte, demi-matte, cream/satin, sheer, gloss)?

What are you going for? Red lipstick is fabulous, a whole look by itself, but there's a lot of little elements that can make or break a red for you.

I go for matte or demi matte, I like blue-reds, but also enjoy the really, deep moody ones this time of year. I also like ruby toned ones . Some shades I like and have are:

So many beautiful reds to choose from for every day and day into night. My lips are not very pigmented but I know this plays into how they can read. I also prefer blue -reds Demi-mattes/ mattes but there are many wonderful neutral tones as well as more warm-tones depending on what you love.

A few thoughts on some favorite reds in different formulas:

A liner like TOM FORD Long Wear Lip Liner Private Client or Headline would really last a long time. They feel a bit tacky at first but dry down. A balm under or over feels very comfy or you can really punch it up and seal it with another lipstick over it.

SEPHORA COLLECTION Retractable Rouge Gel Lip Liner 12 the red feels great too and is such a good deal.

PAT McGRATH LABS MatteTrance™ Lipstick Elson or PAT McGRATH LABS Dramatique Mega Lip Pencil Elson 6 over a pencil would really do the trick!

ILIA Lip Sketch Hydrating Lipstick + Lip Liner Crayon Case Study makes a crayon that lasts and feels comforting at the same time. Beauteous red.

SEPHORA COLLECTION Lip Last Matte Lipstick Always Red and

#Gucci Transfer-Proof Matte Liquid Lipstick 521 Nellie Cherrie and Gucci Transfer-Proof Matte Liquid Lipstick 25* Goldie Red are some of the most comfortable liquids I’ve tried and do not budge. No bleeding either.

Gucci Velvet Matte Lipstick 509 Rosso Ancora is also one of the prettiest festive reds I’ve seen this season and also leaves a gorgeous stain. Love.

2 other favs of mine are Prada Beauty Prada Monochrome Soft Matte Blur Lipstick R129 LACCA which tho it says matte does not feel it. Silky smooth.

Also, DIOR Rouge Dior Refillable Lipstick 964 Ambitious will always be one of my HG deeper reds that also gives a lovely long lasting stain.

A good neutral lip balm works very well underneath and over reds plus seals the color in and prevents feathering many times as well. ILIA Balmy Tint Hydrating Lip Balm Heartbeats is a good one that isn’t too slick.
