Hi there

yesterday colored my hair. I’m not in a spot that has a Sephora store I have a kohls with one attendant. Did stop in but he was slammed. I managed to find ilia wanderlust and I like it. Looking  for more lip suggestions  like it or reddish brown suggestions for every day. I usually wear a tinted moisturizer and lippy that’s it. I really have no idea what to wear. I was blonde 

I’ll also take a red suggestion too!

Lippies- our happy place!  😬 @melaniedc your hair is so flattering on you and love your Ilia lip too! 😍 It’s such a comfy formula plus I love the soft yet vibrant red. It appears you are cool tho also neutral probably so I picked some favs for you that are both neutral and cool-toned. Do you tend to go for more neutrals, cools or warms? I’ll include other options too. My favorites tend to be mainly cool-toned tho I love all shades of reds when others can wear them!

 Here is a small bombardment by different categories. 🤓 (Yes it was a slow news day 🙃.) I hope some of them may work for you and if not then you also have many wonderful options from everyone here too! 🥰 I find all of these formulas to be very comfortable which feels especially important right now in these warm months. 

Liquids- Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Matte Lip Blur Liquid Lipstick Ruby Blur - fantastic comfy shade that can be amped up or blurred for an easy look and Glossier G Suit Soft Touch Matte Liquid Lip Crème Jet - love this formula! #Gucci Transfer-proof Matte Liquid lipstick 521 Nellie Cherrie - a beaut and soft.

Stain- Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Poutsicle Hydrating Lip Stain Fuchsia Wife - this one doesn’t bleed and can be layered well or looks great on its own 

Sheer versions- Glossier Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick Punch , Givenchy Le Rouge Sheer Velvet Matte Lipstick 39 Rouge Grenat -love the depth yet not of this red. I appreciate that a sheer lip can still have some depth for those of us with lighter lips 

Balm tints- Tower 28 Beauty JuiceBalm Vegan Tinted Lip Balm Drink and Givenchy Pink Collection Rose Perfecto Lip Balm 24H Hydration 37- Rouge Graine - these taste and look so good, and easy. Gucci Hydrating Lip Balm 5 Ester Rosewood - light color that’s neutral rosey/reddy brown 😊

Gloss- Givenchy Rose Perfecto Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm & Gloss 37 Rouge Grainé - for a gloss this holds a lot of color and it’s perfect for summer, on it’s own or over anything. 

Satins- Gucci Long Lasting Satin Lipstick 25* Goldie Red - a neutral beauty also comes in sheer and matte 

Dior Rouge Dior Refillable Lipstick 999 Satin - one and done neutral classic Dior red, Hourglass Unlocked Satin Creme Lipstick- Red 0 Red 0 - these feel wonderful if you haven’t tried them! Gucci Long Lasting Satin Lipstick 504 Myra Crimson is one of my favorite deeper reds and I bet it would look lovely on you as a stain! Also comes in their very comfy matte formula

Mattes- comfy mattes only allowed! (see above for Gucci Goldie and Myra) PAT McGRATH LABS MatteTrance™ Lipstick Elson - what a perfect cool/neutral red and if you want more of a fiery shade try PAT McGRATH LABS MatteTrance™ Lipstick Elson 2 , Saie Lip Blur Soft-Matte Hydrating Lipstick with Hyaluronic Acid Surreal - a slim little beauty that stays put but also does feel hydrating, Dior Rouge Dior Refillable Lipstick 666 Rouge En Diable Matte - deep wearable red in their mattes that feels more like a semi/demi matte. (What is the diff, anyone know 🤣) 

Other luxe shades you may want to check out sometime- TOM FORD Lip Color Lipstick 16 Scarlet Rouge - neutral warm- leaning or TOM FORD Lip Color Lipstick 80 Impassioned which is a gorgeous claret browny red. TF does fantastic satins and mattes.

Westman Atelier Lip Suede Lipstick Palette Les Rouges gives you 4 variations of cool to warm that would be so lovely on you plus beautiful for any bag. The little compact dust cover can work well for other mini lippies, q-tips, lip balm, etc too. The formula is this dense suede-like matte. Ooh they’re pretty! 

I also agree that a combo blush/lip stick would be a good option especially for right now and as you like the Ilia you wear so well. I love that on the cheek in a pinch too. Summer Fridays Blush Balm Lip + Cheek Stick with Hyaluronic Acid Heat Wave feels balm-like but also gives a translucent yet mattified feel and look for lips and cheek and the Hyaluronic feels so good.

Wow! Thank you so much. Im going to have to try a few of these. Question should I try and go a bit darker maybe cinnamon? To match the hair? Im debating because when I was a blonde I never really wore darker colors. I think one of the first neutrals I ever wore was a Clinique color but migrated to English rose in the Sephora lip stain. It looks natural so I wore that daily.thanks for all your help!

@melaniedc A lighter cinnamon look would be great for every day! I think that also going with a bit darker cinnamon could also be a great option and contrast. ( Always a good idea to just keep the eye and cheek more subdued if you do a darker lip and it’ll be a stunning classic look.)  Nars, Refy, Gucci etc make very pretty cinnamon shades. Here are a few to consider. I do think @itsfi has some good love for these kind of shade ranges as well so I bet she maybe has some options. Love to hear what you try! 💞

@Sunnysmom, how’s the Refy lip blush compare to similar products from Westman Atelier or Summer Fridays? I saw they (Refy) released some new shades a few weeks back (or maybe it was last month even?) and they had some shades that caught my eye.

The berry shade in the Refy @Sunnysmom? Wine or Canyon? 😍 I don’t have any of the blush sticks from the brand, just a couple of their lip products. I have a couple on my list but am trying to be good with blushes. I don’t reach for them as often as you and other lovelies here do so for me it’s hard to justify picking up more. Ummm, “hard to justify” doesn’t mean I don’t or won’t try to justify a purchase. Errrr, I mean, if a purchase were to happen (because you know, I’m trying to be good). 😝

Yes @itsfi Wine shade. I haven’t bought anything from Refy yet. Shocking consider my love for blush! You’re being very good but you know if something did happen to fall into your cart you really can’t be blamed. You need to grow the blush category plus it’s almost a necessity I feel like. 🤓 🥰

@melaniedc   That hair colour is very flattering! And I agree that the lippy is a terrific shade on you.

I would suggest one of my own favourite lip products, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer Riri. I actually wear the shade Fenty Glow, but I think you're looking for something with a bit more pop and "pinkness".  There are arm swatch photos on the product page, so you can get a better sense of the shades. My complexion is fair with warm undertones, if that helps.

It sounds like you maybe want some more product suggestions? I'd suggest an auburn brow gel, to help your eyebrows tone with your hair colour - nothing wrong with your brows now; this would be an "I love playing with makeup thing". LOL. You could try Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW® Gel in Auburn, or Benefit Cosmetics Mini Gimme Brow+ Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel in 3.5 Warm Auburn Brown (it's not on the Sephora Canada site, but hopefully you have it in the States). A more economical option would be SEPHORA COLLECTION Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel in 2.5 Auburn.

Also, I'd suggest a cream blush. Since you like your Ilia lipstick, one to try might be ILIA Multi-Stick Cream Blush + Highlighter + Lip Tint - the colour A Fine Romance is a berry shade, which should go well with your lipstick. Since my sense is that you prefer a simple routine, you could also use it as a lipstick on occasion, just for fun. 😊

Lastly, you could really make your gorgeous blue eyes pop with mascara and some copper shimmer eyeshadow. I'd suggest brown mascara would be more flattering and natural looking. There's DIOR Diorshow 24h Buildable Volume Mascara 798 Brown or Lancôme Définicils High Definition Lengthening Mascara Deep Brown .

For the copper shimmer eyeshadow, I'd suggest a pencil shadow, to keep it easy. There's lots of lines that have them, but two possibilities (just to get you started) are Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow Stick Golden Amber or a more economical option (currently on sale, so won't be around long!) is SEPHORA COLLECTION Sephora Colorful® Waterproof Eyeshadow & Eyeliner Multi-Stick 46 Brown Copper

I hope this helps! This might be overkill for you. If it's too much to start with, I'd do the mascara and copper shimmer eyeshadow. Your eyes will look fantastic, I promise. 😊

@itsfi   I agree! I really like the ABH Dipbrow brow gel, but I'm willing to try something new. As long as it's easy, of course. LOL
