Lip Balm

Hi! I am looking for a good lip balm that does not dry out your lips super fast. I find myself reapplying lip balm so frequently during the day.

Re: Lip Balm

Hi there,

I recommend using the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask – Intense Hydration Lip Treatment with Vitamin C Berry every night. It has made a big difference in the way my lips feel during the day in a very small amount of time. There are two lip balms I generally use during the day: MILK MAKEUP - Triple The Kush Set- the lipbalm in this set is a nice size for toting around daily and leaves your lips feeling luscious and juicy. The other I use is Too Faced's Peach Mega Moisture Lipbalm (https://www.sephora.com/ca/en/product/peach-lip-balm-P435335?icid2=products%20grid:p435335:product

I hope you find one that you like. Another small tip that I find really helps me is to make sure i'm drinking lots of water throughout the day.

Re: Lip Balm

@gmilto1,

I also recommend the SEPHORA COLLECTION Lip Balm, they smell so good and also I find that work well under lipstick.

Re: Lip Balm

@gmilto1 Glossier Balm Dot Com - amazing texture and long lasting; Kiehls Lip Balm - thinner texture than the Glossier ones, but still really hydrating and long lasting.  (Note: the Glossier lip balms taste amazing so you may not mind reapplying during the day haha)

Re: Lip Balm

@gmilto1 Like @ather , I use the Laneige. For me, it's the sleeping mask a.m. and p.m., and the balm mid-day.  I recently tried Lanolips ointment and their balm, and both were a no-go.

Re: Lip Balm

@greeneyedgirl107  I was a no go on the lanolip too.

Re: Lip Balm

@ather Good to know I wasn't the only one.  For some reason I think I built it up in my head - I guess the packaging just really spoke to me!

Re: Lip Balm

@greeneyedgirl107  Me too. I was expecting to love it and was so disappointed. I use it as a cuticle lotion and it works.

Re: Lip Balm

@ather Looking at my cuticles right now, I'm second guessing returning it!  😛

Re: Lip Balm

@greeneyedgirl107  If your looking for a good cuticle oil the Doir one is by far the best and I use it every night. Literally changed my nails from brittle to strong.

Re: Lip Balm

@ather Thanks for the heads-up!  I will look into it.  My nails aren't great at all.  My cousin has a theory that in our family if you have thick hair you have thin nails and vice versa.  For the two of us it's true - her hair has always been terribly thin but her nails are literally rock hard.  My hair is ultra thick, but my nails are super thin.  Sometimes, though, I think it'd be fun to switch with her.

Re: Lip Balm

@greeneyedgirl107  Oh wow. How crazy. I have super thin hair. And my nails have always been bad. I use to always just do gel nails so I could have strong nails but my current job doesn’t allow nail polish or anything so I’ve had to change my ways. I’ve been using the dior cuticle oil and now my nails grow like crazy.

Re: Lip Balm

I use Aquaphor ointment as a lip balm also. I was on accutane for almost 2 years and my lips got so dry they would start to crack and bleed. Aquaphor was the only thing that worked, it literally saved my lips. I still use it to this day even though I am no longer on accutane. A lot of people use the one in the squeeze tube, but I prefer the one in the jar.

Re: Lip Balm

@gmilto1  Balms that contain camphor or mint/menthol can be very drying. My favorite daytime balm is plain ol’ Aquaphor Ointment: it’s petroleum jelly based, making it a good occlusive that creates a moisture barrier on my lips. I tap a little water on my lips to dampen them, then apply Aquaphor to seal in hydration.

A few other ways I keep my lips from drying out:

Re: Lip Balm

@gmilto1  I like to use LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask – Intense Hydration Lip Treatment with Vitamin C Berry

as a balm. I also love the LANEIGE - Lip Glowy Balm

when I am at work and want a little more shine.
