Deep Red/Wine lip color recs

I ordered Tarte's color splash lipstick in high dive which in the stock photo looks like a dark red/Wine color. However when it arrived yesterday it looked chocolate brown in the tube AND on me. Really disappointed and since I got it off one of Tarte's kit sales I can't return it. Anyone have recs for a wine colored lipstick (liquid or bullet)? Not berry nor hints of brown please. The online pic of YSL Pur Couture slim matte in reverse red looks about right but seeing if there are any other options.

Following @WinglessOne and posting swatches on a different skin tone, though sorry for the smudge on the bottom! Some of these might lean a bit too plum for your liking, but I was going for anything that reminds me of wine.

Aw, I just purged a lot of dark wine/oxblood lipsticks during my declutter—not because of the color (I love that color family) but because so many were bad performers. 

Here are the ones I kept. The first 2 are liquid mattes. The rest are cream and matte bullets. 

Some may be too berry for you.

PMG LuxeTrance in Anarkissed might also work for you. I don’t have that one yet (it’s still in transit). Some of the other dark PMGs are probably too brown or purple for you... wait, MatteTrance McMenamy might work.

I was going to mention Hello Stranger @WinglessOne @Ardnaxela28, but I thought it might lean a tiny bit too purple than wanted. @txcatx Is wearing this in the 100 lipstick challenge thread today if you want to check it out @Ardnaxela28. Great performance and FABULOUS price!

@jozkid @Ardnaxela28 Interestingly, but not surprisingly (not to me, anyway), CP Hello Stranger isn’t purple at all on me. Against my skin tone, it’s... well, I’ll let the photo speak for itself. 😄 Swatched on my palm, it starts to lean a bit more plum. 

@Ardnaxela28 I’d say NARS Charlotte is more of a universal oxblood on various skin tones. You might wanna swatch it in person, though.
