Hey everyone does anyone have any recommendations because in this colder season my lips get chapped real easily and start cracking so I was wondering what some good products that might help.
I use aquaphor throughout the day and recently bought the LAWLESS Forget The Filler Overnight Lip Plumping Mask I use at night and I love it!!!
Hey hey!
The Laneige sleeping lip masks are amazing, I use them all day and it has saved my lips from this cold weather. There’s a value set (Midnight Minis) and I’d recommend it for sure.
If you prefer tube lip balms, I’d recommend the Sugar Advanced Therapy Treatment Lip Balm. I have a couple of these and they are great for everyday.
@Hiiio it's a bit pricey but Pat McGrath clear balm is really good. Better than the tinted varieties. Tarte balm is good, less pricey. It has a strong mint scent. Dr Pawpaw is even less pricey, no mint scent that I have noticed and works pretty good. It's good for cheeks etc too. Ulta sells Dr Pawpaw.
some of my favorites are summer fridays lip balm and the laneige lip mask in vanilla— they are both really amazing! Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm for Hydration & Shine Vanilla - sheer clear
Not sold at Sephora @Hiiio, Nuxe Reive de Miel is the most moisturizing lip balm that I’ve tried. Recently thanks to @QueenMarceline I found Too Faced Hangover Pillow Balm Ultra-Hydrating Lip Balm Original ( all scents). They come in a strong second.
As someone who constantly has to hear lip balm reviews from her husband because he somehow always misplaces them 🤦🏻♀️, the ONE he will always manage to hang on to is his all time favorite the
Kosas Kosasport LipFuel Hyaluronic Acid Lip Balm
.
Some of my favorites and honorable mentions for him are the
fresh Sugar Lip Balm Hydrating Treatment Clear
, LANEIGE Midnight Minis Lip Sleeping Mask Set (any of them are great, this is a cute little set!) and the Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask .
They all work best paired with a lip scrub of some sort, I really liked the one from Bite (RIP), but the one from fresh is good too.
@Hiiio Aquaphor Ointment. Not the one specifically marketed as a lip bam (though some folks do like that one); I mean the regular ointment that comes in a jar and various sizes of tubes. Aquaphor is my all-year daily lip balm, but I apply a slightly thicker layer when temps drop below freezing.
Any petrolatum-based balm should help. I just prefer Aquaphor's texture and my lips and skin like lanolin, a very hydrating ingredient in that ointment. Some people prefer CeraVe Healing Ointment—either the regular one in the dark blue jar/tube or the one marketed for babies (both versions contain the same ingredients). Heck, some folks like Vaseline or store brand petroleum jelly. Petrolatum is the most occlusive (water-loss preventing) skincare ingredient available, aside from things like hydrocolloid patches.
Whichever balm you choose, apply it to damp (with water, not saliva) lips to seal in hydration instead of dryness.
I second the Aquaphor! I personally use and like the lip one especially because it’s a travel size.
Hi @Hiiio and @MusicMeg222 ! Definitely try Farmacy Honey Butter Beeswax Lip Balm 0.12 oz/ 3.4 g I put this on chapped lips that had a bit of skin sticking out. I am not lying, within a few minutes the skin had melded back into the lips, like it was never chapped. It works so well😍.
Hello! I recommend the Biossance Squalane+ Rose Vegan Lip Balm 0.51 oz/ 15 mL. I get really dry lips and this always works for me, both by itself and under lipstick! And it's clean and vegan, which is always a plus😄!
I was just about to ask this question. The weather is getting cooler and my skin already feels dry, especially my lips. I like the Laneige sleeping mask but don't like having to use my finger to apply it.
Any recommendations for a hydrating gloss or lip balm?
@MusicMeg222 for balms these two come to mind:
Kosas Kosasport LipFuel Hyaluronic Acid Lip Balm and fresh Sugar Lip Balm Hydrating Treatment Clear ! As far as a hydrating gloss I love the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer Fenty Glow
So happy someone asked, I've always struggled with this, especially living in a colder climate. My holy grails are simply vaseline, and LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C I swear this is a game changer, the price can be a bit high for some people, but 100% worth it!
Aquaphor or Vaseline!
Amazing reccomendations here @Hiiio
I agree with the Laneige Lip masks, especially after a bath or shower to help
seal in the moisture
Hi. I am obsessed with lip care. IMHO it is more than slapping on something greasy and calling it good. Use a high quality product on your lips at nighttime. Lip masks are super moisturizing for while you’re sleeping. Always use a high SPF lip balm during the day underneath your lipstick or gloss. Just do it. You’ll thank me when you’re 70.
Favorite lip mask: Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Gummy Bear
Favorite SPF lip protector: Kiss My Face Sunscreen Stick Sport Hot Spot SPF 30
@Hiiio Absolutely! argan oil on your lips or mixed into your pre-existing lip products is FABULOUS for softening lips!
Thank you for the tip @heartsmyface . I never thought to try Argan Oil on my lips.
@Hiiio I'm really liking LANEIGE Sweet Dream Trio which I picked up during the recent sale, but I also love fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Treatment Lip Balm
