Should I put on my lip balm before or after I put on my lipstick?

New to this all & needing advice.

@bkhdbetty  Think of lip balm as skincare (a moisturizer) for your lips. You want to apply it before lipstick. This goes for SPF lip balm too; think of that as sunscreen for your lips.  

I use plain ol’ Aquaphor Ointment as my daily balm, and I apply it to water-dampened lips during my skincare routine. In fact, lips are the first thing I take care of after washing my face (I use a lip serum as well; not everyone needs one, but it helps my chronically dry lips a lot), before moving on to the rest of my skincare.

@bkhdbetty @I apply lip balm before makeup application. My lips are the last step in my makeup routine.

When I’m getting ready and doing my skin care, I usually apply some lip balm, so it has time to soak in a bit before applying lipstick. If you put it on just before or after, it may interfere with the staying power of your lipstick. Hope this helps!
