Extremely sensitive skin help

Spoiler
Extremely Sensitive Skin

What is a good K-beauty for extremely sensitive skin?My skin is normally very smooth with no acne but it’s hard to find skin care that doesn’t cause an allergic reaction. My dermatologist haven’t figured out what I’m allergic to in skin care or hair care. It has become trial and error for me. HELP!!!

Re: Extremely sensitive skin help

Hey there @Nikka81. I'm so sorry to hear that you're experiencing allergic reaction to your skincare. It's good that you and your dermatologist have been trying to pinpoint what is causing a negative reaction; it may just take time to figure out what it may be or if it's a combination of ingredients or ingredients plus changes in hormones, which is common.

I'm not sure what you are currently using or your skin type - that info may be helpful in getting recommendations. Also are you looking for recommendations of Korean skincare brands only?

Some Korean skincare brands that I've found to be good for sensitive skin include the following, but as you know, how a product performs on one person can be different for someone else and not all of the products in the brand / skincare range may be the best fit for your skin. Brand names / lines with an asterisk (*) next to them are available at Sephora.

- Dr. Jart Cicapair* line - good for sensitive, redness prone, skin barrier

- Dr. Jart Ceramidin* line - good for restoring and maintaining skin barrier

- Etude SoonJung line - Etude is a well known Kbeauty brand and this line is specifically geared towards sensitive skin

- Haruharu Wonder - their cleansing oil and cleansing gel are wonderful. They have a toner for sensitive skin and an unscented moisturizer. They have 2 sunscreens, the mineral one may be better suited for sensitive skin.

- CosRX snail mucin line - good for sensitive skin but the texture may not be everyone's cup of tea.

If these are new to you and you are considering trying multiple different products, it's strongly encouraged to introduce products into your routine slowly, one at a time (and after doing a patch test that doesn't cause your skin to be irritated) - with that one product being the only new product used for a couple of weeks. This will be useful on multiple fronts, including making it easier to determine the likelihood that it is a product that is causing your skin to react negatively.

Re: Extremely sensitive skin help

Thank you so much for reply. I will give them a try.

When I’m not having an allergic reaction my face is completely clear. It isn’t oily or dry and no acne.

I know since I had the hysterectomy I’ve become allergic to several medications.

I also have Lupus, Rheumatoid Disease, and Graves Disease. I’m on a lot of medications. Even chemotherapy.

We’re thinking something isn’t working with my meds but I think it’s hormones also.
