Eczema

Hi! I'm a teenager looking for skincare/makeup products, but it's really hard for me to find items that work well because I have eczema. Any recommendations?

Re: Eczema

@avocher   @JoSometimes has given you some excellent recommendations. I don't have eczema personally, but I have found Skinfix to be amazingly good at healing my skin. So I'd suggest taking a look at Skinfix Eczema Kit - it's presently out of stock in Sephora Canada, but you can ask to be notified when it's back in stock if you're interested.

My father has eczema, and his doctor recommended Cetaphil as a cleanser, which I use myself on my "intimate areas" as it's very gentle and non-irritating. It's also a more economical solution if you don't have a big budget. Cetaphil sells a range of skincare products these days, so if the gentle cleanser works for you, you could try adding in the sensitive skin lotion and so on.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Re: Eczema

@avocher Are you looking for k-beauty specifically or anything thatโ€™s eczema friendly? I find most k-beauty is developed with skin sensitivity in mind. I havenโ€™t found any k-beauty that triggered a flare up.

For k-beauty skincare, check out Etude House, specifically their SoonJung line up. Everything in it is sensitive-skin friendly. I have eczema too and their products have helped me out quite a bit. I use the Cica balm as part of my routine but Iโ€™ve also used some of their other products.

If you want to shop k-beauty at Sephora, LANEIGE Cream Skin Refillable Toner & Moisturizer with Ceramides and Peptides  and LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask with Niacinamide & Squalane 2.3 oz/ 70 mL  are great options, though they can be a little pricey up front.

As for makeup, it depends a little on your skin type. Eczema and dryness usually go hand in hand, but everyone is different. Avoid makeup with scents as they can just trigger your eczema. I generally try makeup that has skincare in mind and Iโ€™ve usually been ok using them. If thereโ€™s anything specific youโ€™re looking for, feel free to ask!
