Sephora Website Changes

There are so many changes going on with the Sephora Website, I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are so far.

What I personally discovered, with the help from another user, is that the product Q&A section has been deleted and now they are expecting us to simply ask the question in the chat section.

I'm not sure I like this, I almost feel like it's counterproductive because most of the time someone has already asked a question I would have asked in the Q&A section and I can find out the answer right away.  Also, I don't think there is ability to view what people respond to other people's questions in the chat section because it's one on one.

Am I the only one frustrated by this?

I am just wondering who's brilliant decision it was? Like who woke up one morning and said "aha! let's remove the Q&A section! That'll make everyone happy!"

Re: Sephora Website Changes

Sephora, please bring back Q&A section. The chat function does not serve the same purpose at all if that was the idea.

Re: Sephora Website Changes

I miss being able to ask questions on specific products too -- much easier to get answers than waiting for someone to find my question buried under the community tab.

The new website never lets me add items to my loves! I like the "love" button, and nothing ever happens! I've also had weird problems with the website logging me out in spite of whatever "remember me" options the website/my laptop have

Re: Sephora Website Changes

Sephora keeps crashing for me when I'm using it on Chrome. Every time I'm trying to explore a new product, I always get a 400 error code saying the source can't be loaded. It's getting to be reallllly frustrating!

RE: Re: Sephora Website Changes

Same error for me also

RE: Sephora Website Changes

Totally agree, without the Q&A I’m going to other websites to look for the Q&A for example I go to two-faced guess what they have a 30% off sale, Sephora is losing their purchase power when we have to go to other websites. I research the new products I want to purchase extensively before I buy them and from what I’m seeing a lot of other people do you too

Re: Sephora Website Changes

I'm a little bit late to the game but I think their changes totally suck and are horrible.  I can't find q&a on any products i want and find it so much harder and time consuming  as you have stated.  It was so easy to just see if a question I had was answered already.  Who has time for that and then to wait ages and see if someone responds or not , or have to comb thru threads upon threads that seem to have nothing to do with the product or your question.  I also find the way they do their fb messenger compared to other companies is absolutely horrible! I sent a fb msg regarding an issue with my account over 4 hours ago and still no response via msger or email! I don't know what has happened but like others I have started going else where as the site has no longer become useful or helpful as it once was.  I also find that the site seems very laggy or much slower at loading things then it used to.  I hate when companies try to fix things that aren't broke!  I know that their doing away with the q&a are definitely going to cut down on the amount of items I would purchase from them since I don't want to be constantly purchasing and returning items and I think this is what will happen now since they did away with the q & a section.

Re: Sephora Website Changes

I am super cranky that the Q&A section is gone!  The new review section look is ok I guess.... the filters are nice, but miss being able to sort by photo/video reviews.

It feels like Sephora wasn't able to filter/manage the Q&A section (which was my favorite part about it - felt more honest than the carefully curated reviews Sephora allows to be viewed) so they just decided to get rid of it.  I find that since I don't trust the new version of the Sephora website as much, I'm going off and using other websites to get legit information on products...especially product comparisons, which Sephora has always sucked at.  (except in the Q&A section)

Re: Sephora Website Changes

I completely agree and I'm very upset they removed the Q&A section. Most of the time I would go directly to the questions/answers before reading the reviews.

Re: Sephora Website Changes

YES!  the Q&A section always seemed more honest in my opinion.  I really hope they bring it back.

Re: Sephora Website Changes

Agree, or at least allow us to search key words in the reviews... that way if I want to know if it's 'sticky' I can search the word and see if anybody has commented using thar key word that it is or isn't.

Re: Sephora Website Changes

@jackiemariee - I'm w/ you on the frustration. Def agree that completely removing the Q&A section was unproductive. The Q&A section made basic product questions (is it matte or dewy, full or sheer) very easy to find/answer. The secretive nature of the Chat function makes it difficult to gage whether the replies are actually helpful especially if the initial question is too vague, and might require a follow-up response.

Also is there a limit to how many questions a person an post a day? There's a user that's basically spamming the Chat Live w/ 50+ questions a day. The questions are all over the place often times completely contradicting a question she/he had asked. And if they're not contradicting, they're redundant (EX: Multiple questions about orders needing cancellation or modification - it sounds like this person has made 10+ orders w/in the last 24hrs). This person is clogging up the Chat Feed and making it more difficult to find/answer other users.

Re: Sephora Website Changes

@gymgirl2 that's a good question about the limit.  I have no idea.  to be honest, i only discovered the chat feature today when i was looking through the sale section and noticed the Q&A section was gone.

I completely agree how spamming the chat is making it difficult to see more productive questions...not that we can actually see the responses to questions.  Lol.  They really need to make these chats public and not private (one-on-one) so we can get the valuable info ourselves without relying on others to respond to us personally.

Re: Sephora Website Changes

I really miss the Q&A section! I have no interest in using the chat feature. So sad they deleted this handy reference. Please bring it back Sephora!

Re: Sephora Website Changes

This is one of the worst decisions I've ever seen a company make. I have to go to Ulta to look up product Q&A's and now I've just been buying from them now too. I always stayed loyal to Sephora. I really hope they realize this isn't good for their business and revert back to posting product Q&A's. They were so helpful.
