Question about Sephora's color IQ

I would like to know how accurate Sephora's color IQ is? I am looking forward to order a Foundation based on Color IQ suggestions. Does anyone have a better experience with color IQ suggestion?

Re: Question about Sephora's color IQ

Shade finder does help and has corrected my mistake when I purchased a KVD concealer in the color I thought I was and it turned out to be very light, but use as a highlighting concealer. Or4derred same brand 5 shades darker that Sephora's shade finder suggested and it is a perfect match. I saw you said you are looking for fuller coverage, KVD is a great full coverage foundation and a little goes a long way but it is definitely fully full coverage. I do like it but Lancome Teint Idole 24 h long wear foundation is a really nice full coverage that can be sheered to medium coverage. Hope this helps. You can also call a beauty adviser and get suggestions.

Re: Question about Sephora's color IQ

Hi @pppps!

Sephora doesn't use Color IQ anymore.  They switched it to Shade Finder.  When you select the foundation you want to check out, click on the Shade Finder button located above the foundation colors.  Choose your current foundation brand and color (or ones you've used in the past) and it's supposed to give you an "exact match".

Shade Finder is super inaccurate and many people complain about it.  For me, it gives the right shade (light for me), but will give me the wrong undertone color.

I've been eyeballing it since I'm stuck in quarantine...

Thanks for your help. Actually I never purchased foundati...

Thanks for your help. Actually I never purchased foundation from Sephora or I was not in heavy makeup routine, but now I wanted to try full coverage foundation and due to current issues going on I don't want to go to store. so I am confused between whether I should order online based on Color IQ or wait to go to store.

@pppps

The best thing to do would be to go in stores, but not sure if they have testers out right now.  I know my skin tone and undertone so that kind of helps me choose the foundation colors.

You can get free shipping by using the Freeship code, no minimum purchase during the pandemic.  Return shipping is also free, you just have to print the label.
