In-store consult?

Hi! I have nearly non-existent skill or savvy in beauty. I have an upcoming series of videos filming for work trainings, so I want to spruce up my look. I would like to get assistance on concealer, foundation, etc. In just showing up at Sephora or stores like Ulta, I have gotten assistance in the past but it’s left me a little jaded because I’ve ended up with issues like orange foundations that make me look like I self tanned my face with carrot juice. Or I’ve had someone focus so much on switching me to a different brand of make up that I don’t think they really focused on what was right for me. Does Sephora offer individual consultations? If so, does anyone know how to book those and has anyone had experience with this-good or bad? Thanks :-).

Re: In-store consult?

@missreggieweiss I second either (or both!) of a class or a makover/consult. I only buy stuff like mascara, eyeshadow, etc. before I see how things wear for a day. It definitely depends on your store and the associates, but I have never felt like I was being pushed to buy anything, and have in fact had SAs say "if you likethis, this other thing might be a better value" or "this might work better for your skin type because of X but will look similar" which I found super helpful

Re: In-store consult?

@missreggieweiss You might try booking an individual makeover. It's an hour of attention just on youm You'll get a lot of attention with picks specifically for you. The makeup artist can then show you how to apply the makeup so you can create the look on your own. It's free with a $50 purchase. If you're planning to pick up a few new things then this totally makes sense for you.

Re: In-store consult?

@missreggieweiss you can book the class online or by calling the store you want to attend. Each store offers a variety of classes in an individual or group setting.

online you can find classes under the store and service tab and filter through location, date and times.
