Drunk Elephant bad for young skin?

There has been some recent drama on whether Drunk Elephant is for young skin. Drunk elephant uses retinol in a lot of their products. Retinol is not for young skin, but drunk elephant does not use retinol and everyone of their products. Here is a list of drunk elephant products that do not have retinol in them. And are not for wrinkles/fine lines

1. Bora barrier moisturizer

2.Rosi drops

3. Bronze drops

4. golden drops.

5. lippe balm

6. Water hydro facial

There are many more actually and you’d be surprised that most of drunk elephant products actually don’t have retinol in them. Just make sure if you’re under 18 to read the ingredients and skin types so you know it’s just right for you.

Re: Drunk Elephant bad for young skin?

@Gretchen4  It’d be quicker to list the 3 Drunk Elephant products (as of today) that do contain retinol. 😉 Those are:

Everyone, regardless of age, should learn their skin type/behavior—really get to know your skin—and figure out what they want skincare products to do for their particular skin. I also recommend reading about various skincare ingredients to learn what they can and cannot do. Then check product INCI lists (ingredient lists) to see if a product contains stuff that meets your particular needs.

And I feel obligated to mention that young skin can use retinol, if necessary. For folks under 18, vitamin A is usually an acne solution. Retinol’s a form of vitamin A, but the forms most often recommended by dermatologists for acne are tretinoin and adapalene. The latter’s the active ingredient in Differin Gel and similar skincare products. In fact, some people find adapalene less irritating than retinol, and definitely less irritating than tretinoin which is a prescription-only medication. Anyway, all this rambling is just me saying there is a reason kids might wanna use retinol, though adapalene’s probably a better option and they should talk with a doc about it first.

Re: Drunk Elephant bad for young skin?

@Gretchen4 @Parents need to educate their kids about skincare. Also no kid needs to be spending that much at such a young age.  Most of them can’t afford it unless their parents pay for it.
